What difference would shouting at the top of their lungs make?

We lost the election. Both houses and the presidency. That means it's their game now.

I grow weary of the general attitude among liberals that "the Dem party just sucks." How does that help at all?

The people running the show are smart. They have lots of information at their disposal. My inclination is to trust their judgment absent some obvious flaw in what they are doing, and I just don't see that because I don't see the alternative more than they are doing.

They are apparently demanding a separation of powers provision in the CR in order to sign on. I don't know exactly what that looks like or what it would entail, but let's assume it would be enforceable and have teeth. Isn't that exactly what the Dems should be doing?

Actually, yes, I think some shouting is exactly what Democrats should be doing right now. Sometimes symbolic resistance matters - it certainly seemed to matter in Trump's first term, and yet resistance this time has been far more muted, despite the fact that Trump's actions this time have been much worse and more sweeping than last time. And frankly I don't trust the judgment of the Congressional Democratic leadership - no doubt they're smart in some areas, but in public relations I'd have to strongly disagree. People are frustrated and in some ways rightly so.

I will agree with you on one point here, and I've been thinking about starting a thread on it, so maybe I will. I do think Dems need to start using blunter messaging. Elissa Slotkin said that Dems and Pubs were offering two plans for change: one responsible and one reckless.

No. The problem with Trump is not that he's reckless. The problem is that he's a complete and utter disaster. Reckless may sound terrible to Slotkin, but I think Americans don't see it nearly so negatively. The Americans who think they want BIG CHANGE are not likely to see it as really negative at all.

One of the plans for change rebuilds and improves America; one of the plans is destroying America for the benefit of billionaires. Same message, better terminology I think.

Brazile also expressed extreme regret for giving Hillary questions in advance of a Townhall. Maybe that regret is elevated because she knows something about the primary and alleged rigging.

I am also non-affiliated, which is why I don’t comment on how the parties choose to select their nominees. If Democrats choose to use superdelegates, that’s their choice, it’s not “rigging” the process. If Republicans choose to award delegates on a winner-take-all basis rather than apportion them according to vote totals, that’s their choice. It’s their business, it’s not rigging.

I leave those processes to the parties to decide for themselves and don’t understand why people outside the parties feel compelled to tell them how they should do it. Bernie Sanders isn’t a Democrat and he has no standing to complain about how they choose their nomination process. If he wants to change it he should join the party and work from within to change it.

I don't think I really gave my opinion on their process. I just relayed that two other people, besides Bernie Sanders, also called it rigging.
 
The Democrats need to get out and talk to their voters. Focus on normal issues and when they have crazed members call them out. They should treat their loons just like they treat their Republican counterpart loons. The Democrats have become a party obsessed with identity. They are not liberal. I’ve been a liberal my whole life. I want to live in a world where we judge individuals by their character and no one is treated differently because of how they look, where they come from, or who they love. The party is obsessed with checking boxes and wants to thread needles to land JUST RIGHT on every statement so as to not offend.
They are clueless when it comes to Trump voters. Clueless. Are some racist? Sure. Are some crazy? Sure. But the overwhelming majority of them like him because he says students shouldn’t be able to take over campuses and prevent students from learning, something Biden could never say. They like him because he says men shouldn’t be able to get in a pool and beat girls in swimming. Are they fringe issues? Of course. But Democrats are too stupid to understand politics.

Democrats should move on from focusing on Trump. Get a voice and leader first. Focus on the lower and middle class. If it sounds crazy, get away from it.

Now, young voters have moved right and the movement out of liberal states and into conservative states has changed the whole EC picture. Democrats need to find their voice asap.

Winners in politics always get giddy and over-estimate the durability of their coalition.

It doesn't really matter that much. If Trump craters the economy as it looks like he will, MAGA will be finished. All swing states will become blue, and the new swing states will be Iowa and Ohio and places like that. Except they won't be swing any more. It will take the Dems creating some sort of massive catastrophe to bring them back.

Get him ready? What are we talking, charm school? Think Trump had anyone "getting him ready" in '16? There's talent in the Dem party. What they need perhaps is for the dinosaurs (Pelosi, Sanders, Schumer, etc.) to get out of the way. Isn't it past their bedtimes?
