Mark Robinson thread | Sues CNN for Naked Africa reporting

Chatham County is too big frankly and the folks in #DeepChatham where I grew up would be the first to agree with that. Bennett precinct in the far west went 564 to 97 trump over Biden and Harpers Crossroads went 591 to 61. Goldston was a bit better at 1252 to 651 and lastly Bonlee went 867 to 332. Those are the precincts that made up my high school population. That total is 3264 trump, 1141 Biden. That part of the county is about 33% AFAM, close to 0% Hispanic, and the rest are white. Those are static percentages too...i.e., the same as they were decades ago when I growing up there. Chatham County is nigh onto the exact center of the state. Those folks in that western or better known as DC (#DeepChatham) have nothing ini common with the people in Pittsboro and less and less with people in Siler City, i.e., the East...those counts were higher and almost reversed in that part of the county.

Couple of #DeepChathamites I grew up with - both big Baptists too.

Didn’t see one posted yet so I figure I would start one with this fun little nugget. I’m wondering if the. NCGOP won’t find a way to get him to drop out.

1st post on thread from 24 Jul 2024. In regard to the question in the last line, that errant period seems to be prophetic in retrospect.

WRAL reporting that his staff members are starting to leave.

Mark Robinson staffers resign en masses, following CNN report
Well, in a normal world, that wouldn't be terribly surprising. But I have to admit I'm kinda shocked. However, it sounds like a lot of his top staff are hired guns, so I can see why they'd want to do as much as possible to save their respective reputations.

It's going to be interesting to see if he can mount any kind of real campaign going forward or if he'll essentially have a zombie effort until the election. I can't imagine that too many folks with any real skill would be interested in joining his staff at this point.

I think, barring a serious October surprise, Josh Stein is the next governor of the great state of North Carolina.
Agreed. The real question now is will Stein win by enough that he may help the rest of the Democratic ticket (including Kamala) carry the state as well. He and his staff really need to keep pushing like they're behind and try to win by the biggest possible margin.

Josh Stein should buy a lottery ticket. I think I've seen maybe two ads about him that his campaign put out and he's going to win in a blowout.

I have seen hundreds of ads about Mark Robinson's views on abortions but this porn site thing is really going to sink him. I think Stein would have won anyway but I think he's sitting in a lawn chair now.
