No surprise at all. But I do think a lot of suburban and urban women in NC have turned against him, as will those Republicans who always vote GOP for president but will vote for someone like Roy Cooper for governor. For people like the Robinson supporters in this article politics is a purely tribal thing, and they're not going to turn against their tribe's candidates, no matter what.

I’m not sure it’s “eat their own” as much as it is simply holding elected officials to the moral/personal standards consistent with the office they hold.
