SCOTUS?

Congress?

God?
1. They don’t have an army
2. They don’t have the will or an army
3. Not real, unless you’re speaking metaphorically about age and entropy, and if real, it appears it wants things this way

“… Written by Emil Bove, the acting deputy attorney general, the memo also says the department will return to the principle of charging defendants with the most serious crime it can prove, a staple position of Republican-led departments meant to remove a prosecutor’s discretion to charge a lower-level offense.

Much of the memo is centered on immigration enforcement. Bove wrote that prosecutors shall “take all steps necessary to protect the public and secure the American border by removing illegal aliens from the country and prosecuting illegal aliens for crimes” committed in U.S. jurisdiction.

The memo also suggests state and local officials who stand in the way of federal immigration enforcement could themselves come under scrutiny. It directs prosecutors to investigate any episodes in which state and local officials obstruct or impede federal functions. …”

Homan has stated repeatedly he looks forward to sending local officials to jail. He (and Trump based on retweets) are eager for the opportunity to charge and jail local government officials from Blue states and cities. They clearly want to engineer an opportunity…

My point is that no branch will stand up to POTUS.

And, right-wing Christo-nationalism won’t.

As should be expected, Trump talked out of his ass to win and is now changing direction.

Does anyone have an issue (bolded), in principle, with what is being done?

Homan added that the Trump administration had to “reevaluate” its strategy over “officers’ safety concerns” after its plans to go after illegal immigrants in Chicago were leaked. The border czar said the concerns have been addressed and ICE agents are working toward Trump’s deportation goals “today.”

“ICE officers throughout the country were told today, ‘Go make arrests of those here illegally that have a public safety threat.’ So they’ve developed target sheets, an operational plan to go out in the field … so they’re out there right now looking for the most serious public safety threats throughout the country,” Homan said.
Homan added that there are over 700,000 illegal immigrants with criminal records currently walking free in the U.S.

“That’s who we’re looking for right now,” he said.

They were leaked because he blurted it out at a party.

I have zero concern about targeting/seeking out immigrants with criminal charges for violent crime , drug dealing and felony property crime. I supported that approach in the prior administration as well. Not sure if the 700,000 includes people “walking free” in prison(?) but if it does seems better to leave them in prison for their sentence than free them early by deporting them.

Don’t disagree but this election has been a good indication that nuance is not a thing in American politics at the moment. How are people going to react to a flood of similar visuals?

The people who are in favor of the deportation policy will never see these visuals.

U.S. border agents told to summarily deport migrants without granting asylum hearings under Trump edict

“… Internal government documents indicate that, as of Tuesday night, the president's "full" 212(f) authority was being implemented across Texas' border with Mexico, making nearly all migrants who arrive there subject to quick expulsion. The documents cite the public health-related 212(f) authority that applies to "aliens that traveled through a country with a communicable disease."

Mr. Trump's edict also applies to Border Patrol coastal sectors, including the one in Florida, and the U.S.-Canada border. The documents indicate Canadian authorities will be asked to accept those who cross the northern border illegally, beyond those asylum claimants the U.S. and Canada already exchange under a "safe-third-country" agreement.

Two Customs and Border Protection officials, who requested anonymity to discuss internal guidance, said migrants will not be allowed to see an immigration judge or asylum officer under Mr. Trump's edict, which effectively suspends U.S. obligations under domestic and international law to ensure people fleeing persecution are not returned to danger. …”
