"Give me your hungry, your tired, your poor I'll piss on 'emGive me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!
And the ones committing crimes are going to prison or being deported MAGA just Made Up 20,000 rapists, 15,000 murderers blah blahTo be clear, I’ve got absolutely no issue whatsoever with deporting undocumented immigrants who get arrested for committing crimes. None whatsoever. Why wouldn’t we deport them? But for all the ones that are here and are working hard, helping us to build our economy, paying taxes (and largely not benefitting from any of the social services which their taxes help pay), and generally being good and productive members of society, deporting them is not only unnecessarily cruel for cruelty’s sake, it’s the epitome of cutting off our nose to spite our face. It’s idiotic.
Strengthen the border further by beefing up border security personnel and investing heavily into high-tech means of securing the border. Grow the number of immigration judges and personnel to help make the immigration process easier and more efficient for the folks who want to come here to build a better life and contribute to our great country. Stop demonizing those who want to come here and do those that things. Arrest and deport all others.
Should have included the next line: "Get 'em out." That whole album is near perfect."Give me your hungry, your tired, your poor I'll piss on 'em
That's what the Statue of Bigotry says
Your poor huddled masses
Let's club 'em to death
And get it over with and just dump 'em on the boulevard"
Lou Reed presciently predicting Donald Trump's rise to power from the aptly titled album, "New York"
Because Trump is a mastermind when it comes to tariffs and mass deportations? You do realize this can be done without incurring labor shortages or creating inflation right?
My simple retort to the whining will be - "You were an idiot if you did not see this coming. That's why I voted for Harris."Not me. I’m gonna openly laugh at them. They will be quite literally getting what they want. Hell, in some respects, I’ll be pissed if he *doesn’t* follow through. Trump didn’t even try to hide that his policies would be devastating economically for the middle and working classes- he simply had Elon Musk start the narrative that a little economic pain is a good thing! Paying higher prices at the pump, at the supermarket checkout, etc. will be a minor annoyance/inconvenience for me, and certainly well worth the hard lesson in economics that many voters are about to learn.
Sounds like that should triple the cost or more.Because you can't deport 15 million in a vacuum. You can legally bring people in for those you deport where needed.
Not enough malice for the GQP.To be clear, I’ve got absolutely no issue whatsoever with deporting undocumented immigrants who get arrested for committing crimes. None whatsoever. I agree. Like the bipartisan bill Trump tanked. That’s pretty much exactly what you’re describing.
Who does? The Dems can’t do anything. It’s 100% up to the Pubs, and there’s no way in hell they do a bill like that.Yes. They need to draw it back up with some tweaks and try again.
If the Dems have half a brain, they’ll force the Republicans to try to pass it themselves with zero Democratic concessions this time.Yes. They need to draw it back up with some tweaks and try again.
Dems couldn’t bring it to the floor even if they wanted to.If the Dems have half a brain, they’ll force the Republicans to try to pass it themselves with zero Democratic concessions this time.
True. Good point.Dems couldn’t bring it to the floor even if they wanted to.
Really? Then why are huge numbers of construction, landscaping, housekeeping and agricultural workers immigrants? I don’t know where you live, but when is the last time you saw a roofer or commercial landscaper who wasn’t the foreman speaking English? You really are out of touch and are speaking like a true dummy…Its ton of White,Black.and Latina people that are legal that do these jobs…Man the left has no clue what is going on in this country with the real people…That’s the reason y’all lost this election…
The problem comes when the educated elites have no humility or possess such arrogance that they try to tell you what is best for you rather than just educate or disseminate information.
I’m a Republican. We aren’t elite.Unlike humble and congenial guys like you, huh?
That’s like the Rube Goldberg machine of labor force generation.Because you can't deport 15 million in a vacuum. You can legally bring people in for those you deport where needed.
True but not responsive.I’m a Republican. We aren’t elite.
