Gaetz' responses are comical. Even for what he admits to (which is just a fraction of the entire story) shows how disgraceful it was to nominate him as AG.

"The Biden/Garland DOJ spent years reviewing allegations that I committed various crimes. I was charged with nothing: FULLY EXONERATED. Not even a campaign finance violation. And the people investigating me hated me. Then, the very “witnesses” DOJ deemed not-credible were assembled by House Ethics to repeat their claims absent any cross-examination or challenge from me or my attorneys. I’ve had no chance to ever confront any accusers. I’ve never been charged. I’ve never been sued. Instead, House Ethics will reportedly post a report online that I have no opportunity to debate or rebut as a former member of the body.

In my single days, I often sent funds to women I dated - even some I never dated but who asked. I dated several of these women for years. I NEVER had sexual contact with someone under 18,” he wrote.

"My 30′s were an era of working very hard - and playing hard too. It’s embarrassing, though not criminal, that I probably partied, womanized, drank and smoked more than I should have earlier in life. I live a different life now,” he wrote."

But at least I didn’t vote for CR’s that fuck over the country!"

The hypocrisy just never ends. Presents himself as a pro-family values, anti-abortion, anti-contraceptive rights, anti-gay rights, anti-transgender, Southern Baptist (his congressional website listed him as a member of the First Baptist Church of Fort Walton Beach, FL). But when he gets into trouble he does admit that he did sleep around when he was younger and gave even women he didn't date money (what a nice guy!) and he never (trust me!) slept with any underage girls. And does anyone really believe that he's changed and is "living a different life now"? So that makes it all OK and it's no big deal. No doubt he's probably got a lot more money than he did then thanks to his political activities, but that's likely about the only real change. Also, he's only 42 now, but his statement makes it seem like his wild lifestyle in his 30s was decades ago, not just a few years.

Matt Gaetz Ethics Report to Be Released After House Panel’s Secret Vote

"... The report is expected to be released after the House completes its business for the year.

The House Ethics Committee secretly voted this month to release an investigative report into the conduct of former Representative Matt Gaetz of Florida, according to three people with knowledge of the matter.

The panel’s vote, which was reported earlier by CNN, paved the way for the release of the report after House members cast the final votes of the Congress this week and have left Washington to return to their districts, two of the people said. ..."

A merry HO HO HO and FUCK YOU to Gaetz from his fellow Republicans, apparently.

No reason to keep it a secret. He's not in Congress, right? He's just another far-right nutter butter talking head on a far-right "news" station.

Are we still expecting to see the inquiry details of Gaetz' slipshod debauchery, sex and drug parties, hookers and blow, paying prostitutes, perhaps one or more being underage at the time, by the end of the week?

That is today.

there should be a law that anyone who thinks dropping charges is the same thing as full exoneration is ineligible for the office of the attorney general and in fact should not be allowed to work for the government as an attorney at all. in fact, that person probably shouldn't have a license to practice law.

"The Committee determined there is substantial evidence that Representative Gaetz violated House Rules and other standards of conduct prohibiting prostitution, statutory rape, illicit drug use, impermissible gifts, special favors or privileges, and obstruction of Congress," the 37-page report concludes.
