You could really swap Philly and Pittsburgh and get a bit more balance without losing any geo organization. I mean, Pitt would never compete in that division but they ain't competing now. They have been to the playoffs three times this century, all via wild card. Hell, they have the second coming of Bob Gibson and they are still in last.

Who managed to win 3-2 last night.

Far too little too late...just swept the Padres and took a 2-1 victory over the Dodgers last night. Young men Beavers and Basallo are looking promising. Basallo hit a 433 foot walk-off last night in fact. First home run for him at Camden Yards.

That was one of the most amazing things...and it happened on the night honoring Cal Ripken Jr. to boot.

I was there ... What a Joy !! Even though we improved in '22 and were amazing in '23 (And made the playoffs in a mixed bag' 24) we haven't had any playoff success in the 3-season emergence of these young Birds, so not "Back” To what I remember growing up in the '60s, '70s and '80s.

They do still have a young core - not as solid as it it once seemed but still plenty of talent - GM Michael Elias is going to have to have a very different off-season this year to get this team back where it was just a year ago Or I think that management should probably say "thanks for getting us this far."

Anyway, the game on Saturday followed a walk-off on Friday night that was setting up to be one of your typical 2025 Orioles losses. What then happened on Saturday, has not really ever been done - At least from what I've been reading on the net the past few days - in ML Baseball History. I don't have time right now, but sometime over the next several days I'm going to post some eerie facts about this game.

Orioles got first walk off win for '25 👀 in August

Now, 3 walk-offs in 4 games. Tonight was an odd one vs Pirates, who proved that they're just a bit suckier, a bit unluckier than the Birds.

Update 9/10 - Last 4 wins (4 of 5 games) - Walk-off Wins !

OK, here are some crazy numbers from the 9/6/25 Orioles - Dodgers game, On the 30th anniversary of Cal Ripken setting a new record for consecutive games played at 2,131. For 8 2/3 innings / 26
Outs, The Orioles were being no-hit by yoshimugu Yamamoto. Down to his last strike, Jackson Holiday busted up the No-No with a home run to right field to cut the Dodgers lead to 3-1.

Still with 2 outs obviously, the Orioles proceeded to get a double from rookie Jeremiah Jackson, and Daniel Johnson entered the game to pinch Run for Jackson. Gunnar Henderson was hit by a pitch and took first base. Ryan Mountcastle then worked a full count before walking, but not before a wild pitch had advanced the runners to second and third. Jorge Mateo was put in as pinch-runner for Mountcastle.

Colton Cowser worked a full count before also walking and Johnson was brought in from 3rd base: so now it's 3-2 Dodgers, bases loaded and Emmanuel Rivera comes to bat. He was only recently promoted from Norfolk again when starting 3B Jordan westberg went down with another injury 😫. On a 1-1 count, Rivera goes down out of the strike zone and lines the pitch into center field - Henderson scores the tying run & the speedster Mateo scores The most improbable winning run after a a 8 and 2/3 innings no no have been busted up.

Weird and fun stat...

Mariners rookie Harry Ford won the game tonight for the M's in the 12th inning with a sacrifice fly that plated the runner on 3rd.

Ford now has more game-winning RBIs (1) than hits (0) in his MLB career.
