Don't really have a dog in the fight but that incorrect strike 3 on Bogaerts was enormous .Assuming every else happened the same from that point, the 3rd out would have instead been a game tying sac fly. Exactly why MLB badly needs the ball/strike challenge that is coming next year

How many pitchers throw a lot of innings? How many starters go more than 5 innings?

Throw heat for 1-3 innings. Replace with another reliever.

Of course, I get the strategy. That’s not my point.

There were never even close to this many pitchers who would hit triple digits at all. Now every team has at least a couple if not a handful.

That’s why I’m wondering whether it’s the arms (optimized training and strengthening) or the guns are measuring differently or more accurately.

Athletes improve. Ten years ago -- hell, five years ago -- how often did you see NBA players hit logo threes? On occasion, Curry. Now everyone does it.

After all, world records are broken all the time. I remember a couple of years ago looking up world records for track events, and they had virtually all been broken within the last 5-10 years. Except hammer throw, which has been held by a Soviet Bloc guy since 1983. Pretty fucking sure that was aided bigtime by PEDs.

I've read that the biomechanics instruction has gotten so, so good. They take a video of a guy pitching, breaks down the motion into tiny slices, and finds the inefficiencies. Then they're like, you need to raise your elbow one inch right here in the motion, or your stride is 6 inches too short, or whatever. This sort of refinement can add a couple of miles to the fastball.

Seattle is not a bad pick.
3rd best offense in MLB along with 7th best pitching staff.
Of course the Dodgers would be the sexy pick if going on reg. Season stats alone. Best staff in MLB and 2nd best offense.
And the Yanks. Best offense and 4th best staff.

I know TV won’t like it, but I wouldn’t mind a Milwaukee Seattle final
 
I’m hoping for the AL and NL champs to be teams from colder parts of the continent who still play outdoors.

I want to see a cold, COLD World Series.

Brewers v. Tigers, maybe?
