Yeah, Kamala courted all Americans...working class, middle class, republicans, young voters, elderly voters, women voters, minority group voters... The only groups she did not court were corporations and the 1%ers

How did that turn out for her ?

That’s the problem. She was too afraid to piss of the 1-2% of a fringe group to win back multiple times that in another area.

there's a duality to the nature of democracy. On the one hand, incredible strength when it is intact. What it does for its people, to protect and defend their rights. Incredibly strong. And incredibly fragile. It is only as strong as our willingness to fight for it

I'm new to this board. About three weeks before the election which was slightly before the polling turned back favorable for Harris, I posted that there had to be something wrong with the Democratic Party because there's no way this election should be close considering the fundamentals favored Democrats. Too many voters considered the Democrats to be just as bad or worse then Trump.

Wow, was I surprised with the push back responses I got. The consensus was that there was no point in correcting the Party because Democrats were never going to get those voters. Well, how's that working?

Yeah turns out you were right. I think the autopsy of the campaign and electorate proves the Dems need to seriously consider a monumental change in how they are approaching the American people.

After 2012, the Republicans did their autopsy and all. What did they do? Four years later they went with Trump. He saw the opportunity to take over and he did. He was what changed. They didn't do anything with the autopsy. So Party change may have to come from a Presidential candidate to lead the way. Hopefully, not of the Trump ilk.

Now the reality is Parties simply are happy to take their turn when the other Party screws up. It works that way because that's the only way to keep the Party special interest groups on board. I predict the Democrats will do the same. Already talking about their chances of taking the Senate back in two years..........if we are still having real elections by then.

Not yet but it will soon enough. In a year we won't recognize our country.

What do the Dems do in NC Statewide elections ? they seem to win the top of the ticket pretty regularly in what is basically a Red state

Yeah maybe there's someone out there that sees the opportunity to really take Dems back to what won over working class voters years ago. Trump's version of authoritarian populism is very effective, especially when there's no one with a good economic populist message out there.

The Dems in-state went out and talked to people that helped win Gov, AG, and so on. Anderson Clayton is fantastic and needs to be applauded nationwide for how well we did here considering how bad the rest went.

Gas and grocery prices most likely will never come down. People are paying for them now, so they'll stay put. If American's really wanted prices to come down we'd stop buying shit.
