The Dems in-state went out and talked to people that helped win Gov, AG, and so on. Anderson Clayton is fantastic and needs to be applauded nationwide for how well we did here considering how bad the rest went.
We had the benefit of some great Democratic candidates in NC and some dogshit Republicans for them to run against.

Clayton is doing a good job, hope the party keeps it up under her

Take more than a year for Trump to fix all the mess that Biden made…The Border is a complete shit show…Biden has us on the verge of World War 3…Gas and Grocery bills are through the roof…Give the man time…
Border crossings are already down sharply, well below 2019 levels. That shouldn’t be a difficult one for the Trump admin to address. The more interesting thing to follow will be Trump’s promised mass deportation of 20-25 million people.

Not true at all. Democrats lost the working class, listen to Bernie.
While that is true, Bernie's approach isn't going to win back the working class. Most of the working class also identify as die-hard anti-socialists - even the ones in trade unions.

I don't know if it is possible for the Democrats to win back the working class, at least not while Fox News is speaking to that same working class nightly.

I think our only hope is to let Republicans do their thing and let the public experience the full consequences of it. I just hope Trump implements his policies immediately so the full effect of them will show up early in his administration.

I still think Trump will be the death of Republicans. We just have to allow him to cause it which means major trouble for a lot of Americans.

Gas and grocery prices most likely will never come down. People are paying for them now, so they'll stay put. If American's really wanted prices to come down we'd stop buying shit.
Yes because of Biden…1st thing he did was cut off the pipeline when he took office…Lost jobs and gas went up which in turn made groceries go up…Trump will fix it…

I hate it for those immigrants but I am going to do my part to hold Trump responsible for doing what he says. Same with tariffs. We need the FAFO stage just as Germany experienced it. You don't get rid of this disease without suffering a lot in the process.

I love Bernie, as y’all know, but I largely agree with the points a lot of posters here make about identifying as a socialist when trying to win national, and local as well in many cases, office. I think a lot of average Americans and working class folks like progressive and even socialist policy when asked about specifics. The label mucks it up.

The good thing is, we have a deep bench of Democratic candidates who I think are well positioned to run as progressive populists while not not being affiliated with socialism: Andy Beshear, Gretchen Whitmer, Tim Walz, and J.B. Pritzker all have solid, progressive bonafides and could credibly run as populists.

The competition in 2028 is going to be between these kind of candidates and the more centrist candidates like Buttigieg, Shapiro, and Newsom.

We are pumping more oil than ever domestically right now, so I disagree but if you think that's it then go ahead.

Food Lion knows you'll pay $4 for eggs though. They aren't going to lower it when you just paid $4. Its what it is now.

What do the Dems do in NC Statewide elections ? they seem to win the top of the ticket pretty regularly in what is basically a Red state
NC is about as 50-50 of a state as there is right now...the 7 battlegrounds all are. They will stay battlegrounds for a while IMO.
Calling us a "red state" is misleading. We havent gone the way of Virginia, but dems have so much of the exec leadership in the state now, it's a good sign

The pipeline was to send fossil fuels to the gulf to international markets. While that helps oil companies, it isn't beneficial to the average American. The alternative is for that oil to remain in North America.

We are producing more domestic oil than ever.

The drastic decline in 2020 was simply a consequence of COVID and also happened under the Trump administration. Once demand recovered supply couldn't recover immediately which likely contributed to inflation but that isn't within the president's control.

You are entirely incorrect. The US is currently producing 27% more oil than it was 4 years ago. This year will be the most oil the US has ever produced, topping the old record…. which was set last year!

Take 60 seconds and look up oil production data. It collapsed in 2020 (not a big surprise, given demand and in turn price also collapsed). When demand returned in 21-22, prices soared.

Lost jobs after taking office? What in the world do you look at? Job growth during Biden’s first year was the highest in American history.

Raise my own eggs…Thinking about getting some Meat Rabbits to raise as well…Life is good…
I raise my own eggs too! How many hens do you have? We have around 20 (lost one last week).

Do you have a rooster?

We actually make decent money selling eggs around here but sell them for cheaper than the grocery store. Just enough to cover feed costs each month.

Democrats have a chance here to really make a big change, because they need to stop trying to court every single little group with all these little bullshit messages, and start trying to court all Americans.
How are you going to court the racists and bigots that want a fascist country only for straight white Christian nationalists?

She reached out and actively courted the working class, proposing policies that would have helped them significantly.

I wonder why she lost their votes. hmmm...
Yes, but they read through her bs, she flopped on so many issues, ran competing ads on Israel trying to have it both ways. Basically she went the way of Bud Light. Go woke go broke. Picking Walz over Shapiro was a huge mistake and indicative of her true positions as a candidate.

Have about 25 hens now and 1 old Rooster and few young fellas coming up…Going to have to catch them though because they will start fighting soon and the old Rooster will try to kill them as well…Total free range I have to find the best to get the eggs…

Biden 1st year wouldn’t that be credit to Trump…Trump’s 1st year all credit was given to BO…

So we have one rooster as well, and of course nature played its role and now we have 2 roosters lol, so have to figure out how to take care of that issue. I've never processed chickens before so something to possibly learn. I've been thinking of doing a stand that's pay what you want for our extra eggs as well.

We had a hen get attacked and got her nursed back to health and now she thinks she's a pet, just hangs out near the porch steps. They are such an entertaining creature, I wish more people could get hens and see how cool they are.
