I’ve given up on trying to figure it out.

The country has two groups of people who see the world in a different way and have opposing moral compasses.

Compassion and kindness vs hate and intolerance

Inflation has hurt people and rent is out of control. It doesn’t matter what the macroeconomic outlook is, normal people don’t pay attention to that and it doesn’t touch them usually, outside of their 401K.

Seems like Harris was too tied to Biden and didn’t do enough to distance herself from him. Rightly or not, he is blamed for inflation.

Revisionist mindset. If you ask people now what Trump's approval rating was at the end of his last term they average saying 45-50%. In reality it was near 30.

People in the out group who support the fascists always think they’ll be viewed as one of the good ones and spared from the negative effects of what they voted for. Latinos voting for Trump think it will just be Haitians, Africans, and perhaps other Latino nationalities that suffer.
