The country got what it wanted, no doubt about it. And more disappointing is the number of female voters who voted Trump over Kamala. That's what I find the most offensive.
To your second question: No, American's aren't ready to elect a female to POTUS. They didn't elect Hillary, Kamala actually lost ground to what Hillary and Biden secured, so I'd say for the near term, Democrats will have to lean into the misogyny of this country and nominate men for the foreseeable future, if they want to win. Latinos, AFAM men, even white female voters, aren't ready to elect a woman.
I worked in NC for the campaign. I'm all in on a woman for President. But I'm not all in on brute forcing this onto America if it means Democrats lose. That's just outright stupid.
We've tried, twice. It isn't going to work. Not yet anyway.
