Yes, they do. They have little to no understanding of the connection between bureaucratic organization and: highways, consumer protections, airport safety, water systems, cancer care and research, mitigating pollution in drinking water and the air they breathe, keeping carcinogenic ingredients out of school lunches, the price of gas, etc, etc, etc.

In essence, they assume the conveniences and protections provided by federal workforces are some form of American alchemy, and not the product of American labor.
Very similar to their inability to connect the dots between taxes and public services, imo.

Holy shit this is scary. How long before Trump locks up Hilary? AOC? Anyone else eh feels like locking up.
It is getting hard not to wonder. But that level of brazenness probably would have to wait until he gets the rest of his nominees through — to eliminate that leverage over him in the Senate.

Once Patel and RFK and Vought are through, though … (not sure they care as much about Tulsi).

This may be the most important week in the nation's history since the civil war. Some Republicans in the Senate have got to signal that this stuff stops before its too late. Baring that, then the American will have to hit the streets.

Transportation Secretary Says ‘No Early Retirement’ for Air Traffic Controllers

The new secretary of transportation, Sean Duffy, appeared to walk back an enticement to retire, saying F.A.A. safety workers were exempt from the offer for federal workers.

“… During an interview with CNN on Sunday, the new secretary of transportation, Sean Duffy, said that within his agency, which oversees the Federal Aviation Administration, “the critical positions in regard to safety are not offered that early retirement.” He also said that air traffic controllers, among others, were “exempted” from a recently imposed hiring freeze.

“We’re going to keep all our safety positions in place,” he said. “No early retirement.”

One of the resignation offers, which would allow workers to be placed on paid administrative leave until the end of September, arrived just 24 hours after a passenger jet and an Army helicopter collided on Wednesday, killing 67 people near Washington’s Ronald Reagan National Airport. The offers, which the Office of Personnel Management made via email on Jan. 28 and Jan. 30, rattled F.A.A. workers, many of whom were still reeling from the worst aviation accident in recent U.S. history. …”

Great work, guys. It takes a literal catastrophe for you idiots to see the light.

Another bad sign. In any government takeover, SPEED to oppose by the opposition side is the most important thing. Hesitation is death. So far, slow start.
I wouldn't call Susan Collins the opposition. She's more of a "deeply concerned" type who somehow in the end votes with Trump 95% of the time, and the 5% she doesn't is usually on issues that don't really matter or ones where Senate Republicans interestingly already have enough votes for whatever they're proposing to pass. She's about as much of a fake "independent" or "maverick" as they come.
