Roll Call: Who is voting early? Who is waiting til Nov. 5 (and why?)

That sounds like a great Saturday morning but depending on where you live, be prepared for long lines. I was chatting with the workers at the place I voted today and they're expecting Election Day-level participation this Saturday.

Exciting that the election season is upon us. I might vote early but need to do a little more research first on some of my down ballot candidates so I don’t just blindly vote Republican.

So far I know I am voting:
Trump over Harris
Stein over Robinson
Jeff Jackson over whoever his opponent is
Mo Greene over Michelle Morrow

Still need to dig in more on the other statewide and local races. I imagine most of you are just voting straight ticket Dem but if anyone has any specific thoughts on other races, feel free to share. This board is where I learned how crazy Michelle Morrow is, which was helpful.

#454 in south Durham county at noon, waiting 45 mins. Discussing with some people there and the line has been 45-60 mins since 8 am.

Older gentleman in front of me was decked out in UNC gear. Doubt he was a Trump voter

If Josh Stein was the Dem presidential nominee, would you vote him over Trump ?
If Mark Robinson was the GQP presidential nominee, would you vote for him over Harris ?

I wouldn’t vote for a Dem for a federal office unless I thought the Republican was a real danger. Trump does not meet that threshold for me which I know all of you disagree with, no point in rehashing.

So no, I would not vote for Stein or Jackson over Trump if the race was for POTUS. But I would vote for either of them over Trump for NC governor, FWIW.

I would certainly vote for Harris over Mark Robinson. See comment above. Robinson is dangerous.

You can’t possibly be serious are you? Don’t you realize that Robinson is going to lose the governor’s race by double digits while Trump still has a good shot to carry NC?

Robinson is a complete buffoon and a wannabe Nazi. I’m going to assume you already know about all the Nude Africa stuff, not to mention his ridiculous stance on abortion, among other things. He has zero credentials to be governor.

Agree. Are you also willing to talk about where Trump stands as it relates to sexual deviancy and infidelity, his appointment of three judges to the Supreme Court who allowed about 1/3 of the states to ban abortion completely as a practical matter, among other things?

Serious question -- have you watched any of Trump's appearances recently? Are you really ok with that person becoming president of the United States?

The obvious answer to that question is yes. Heelyeah is one of those people who doesn't think Trump can really do too much damage in a second term based on what happened his first term. The NYT had a whole article about people who will vote for Trump because they don't think he will be able to do what he says he will do: The Trump Voters Who Don’t Believe Trump

I hear you, and you may be right about HY's thinking. But that's not what he said. He drew the distinction between Trump and Robinson not based on what Trump would or wouldn't do as president, but on Robinson's moral shortcomings and his stance on abortion. I don't see how that's a possibly defensible position, but I'm curious how HY might try to walk that line.

HY can chime in, but I think it is pretty easy to draw a moral degeneracy line between Trump and Robinson. I mean, they are both too far on the Nazi side for my comfort, but Robinson (at least based on what is known about him) is much further down that Nazi line.

So my guess is that HY is OK with a little bit of Nazi, just not too much Nazi.
