Roll Call: Who is voting early? Who is waiting til Nov. 5 (and why?)

Probably waiting for Election Day. I know they'll have curbside voting for my wife then. They might have it at the early voting sites but I'll leave that for her to juggle with her doctors' appointments. Just not my day to do it.

I'm also in Carrboro so there's a fair chance that the volume might even be lighter that day.

Just got back from voting in Chatham County. It was a longer wait than I was expecting, but glad to have it done.

My wife and I walked down to the Hal Marshall county office building this morning to vote. When we arrived, I had forgotten my wallet! And I was on her to remember her ID before we left. But I’m retired and I can vote any day. She is a teacher and was off this week so the important thing was getting her to vote because she will have fewer opportunities to go when it isn’t crowded. So I will go back next week. The only upside was when we stopped for lunch she had to pay!

The place was pretty empty, but the greeter said it had been busy earlier and they were bracing for the lunchtime crowd. I’m not sure what the crowds are like at B of A Stadium. Charlotte FC plays DC United tonight at 6. I’m not sure how they plan to do that if early voting runs through 7:30?

Sounds like a fantastic opportunity to me!

I thought I put my reasons in the original post. I like the tradition of going to the polls the day of and I think Trump will refer to early votes as fake since they are certain to lean Dem, so I thought there was a marginal benefit to providing Dem votes on election day. Again I may change my mind. My wife is definitely voting early.
I don’t think it’s the early vote that he points to, it’s the mail-in vote. Several red states have mandated that mail-in ballots get counted after all other ballots.

So…. All precincts report in and Trump is ahead. People wake up and Trump lost. It’s exactly the confusion they wanted.

But, if you vote early in person, your vote will be good and be counted in the Election Day reporting.

By election day everybody will have voted in Carrboro but you and the "Carrboro mafia" :sneaky:

Not sure about your story and you certainly don't need to share it here, but major thumbs-up for you caring for someone who needs curbside, and for the volunteers who provide it. I know that experience, and it's both unbearably hard and unimaginably meaningful.

Then you know it's just something you do.

My wife has chronic COPD and is on 24 hour oxygen. She is more of a semi invalid but she can't stand or walk long. We cope.

I was wrong. Charlotte FC is playing in DC. Morgan Wallen is playing B of A tonight. I don’t know how they will be doing the early voting with that going on!

I voted today at Chavis Park in downtown Raleigh at about 1. At that time, 2000 people had already voted there, which is a lot.

Wife and I went to vote early in downtown Greensboro at about 5:45 PM today. Short walk from my youngest’s day care so we picked her up and walked over. It was a great call in terms of timing - zero line. By 6:05 we were sitting in a restaurant ordering dinner.

Didn’t know you were from the 336. I grew up there but live in the 919 now.

My wife and I voted today. Her cousin gave us a tip of a voting location on Rexford near South Park Mall in Charlotte. Absolutely no line to check-in, to mark my ballot, and to scan my ballot. It was great. My wife said the person she talked to said they had been sending people out all day to neighboring early voting sites to tell people "No lines at Rexford."
