I was wondering about that. It did seem rather intentional in divulging operational details. The relative simplicity of it, as well as how deep into Russia the strikes occurred, might also send the message that nothing is out of reach.
Modern Doolittle Raid, but actually accomplished something other than psychological warfare.

My understanding is the Doolittle raid resulted in about 250k Chinese deaths, as reprisal. Hopefully Putin doesn’t have the resources for similar atrocities (nukes aside 😬).

Good point. I should've remembered that.

Thinking back to Trump telling Zelensky he doesn't have the cards.............ooopps. Well you just never know what cards someone has till they play them. Ukraine will make peace on its own schedule and not on Trump's . So no need for anyone to demand that Ukraine make a peace settlement.

Ukraine's got this.

BTW, Russians and Russian supporting Americans comparing this Ukrainian attack to Pearl Harbor are outrageous.

If Russia surprise attacked a United States military base because we are providing support to Ukraine, that would be like Pearl Harbor.

Russia invaded Ukraine. Ukraine defended itself. Ukraine agreed to an unconditional cease fire. In response, Russia bombed civilians in Ukraine and delayed meaningful peace talks. So Ukraine attacked military targets inside Russia to disable equipment being used by an invader to wage war on Ukraine. Zero comparison to Pearl Harbor (except maybe to some extent the cost of damage done?).

Russia doesn't deal well with embarrassment. Heads will roll. It will be interesting to see if Ukraine helps steer the rolling process toward undermining key folks who Putin depends on. Perhaps leaking information that would lead to suspicion. Doesn't have to be accurate, just plausible. I am sure they have already thought about it.
