I think I did, but maybe not.You have never said what’s wrong with the actress playing Snow White. I posted an article with her picture.
Is she not white enough to play Snow White?
I guarantee you if there was no manufactured outrage about the actress, you would have no problem with her playing Snow White based solely on her looks.
I’ve got some good news for you. Just saw an ad for Disney on Ice. All white. 100%I think I did, but maybe not.
By itself, in a different time, there may be little to nothing "wrong" with her selection. In a time where Disney just replaced an very white, red-haired mermaid with a black woman, then replaces a very white character- "white as snow" as a matter of fact - with an olive skinned Hispanic woman, it smacks of DEI/Woke/politics, which appears was the path of Disney, though I think it will change.
On a side note, we went to Disneyland during my kids' fall break last year. I still drink Bud Light and, in fact, had many while watching Arizona Wildcats beat Akron, so I'm not one of those people.
Wait until James Bond is gay.I, for one, would welcome a black James Bond as long as:
1. He's British;
2. A rugged manly man;
3. Who likes women and martinis; and
4. Who looks good in a dinner jacket.
In other words, please just keep the traditional elements of the Bond series and I'm good.
She probably has Taco on super ignore.Lord, I never considered that someone was spending a lifetime dealing with your nonsense...
Holy crap. Not sure how I missed this...For this poster, DEI is synonymous with minorities getting opportunities that should go to white people as they always have.
Sorry. For all right-wing whiners, this is what DEI means.
I'm confused. Isn't a chief complaint of yours in this thread that portraying Snow White and/or Ariel are indeed "white jobs"?Holy crap. Not sure how I missed this...
You sound like Trump. There are no "white jobs" any more than there are "black jobs".
There are more and less qualified people for any job, but there are no white or black jobs. It made sense for Jamie Fox to play Ray Charles. That doesn't mean that portraying singers in a movie is a "black job".I'm confused. Isn't a chief complaint of yours in this thread that portraying Snow White and/or Ariel are indeed "white jobs"?
I'm not familiar with the Hamilton movie only the musical. Lin Manuel's Hamilton was not a remake of anything. It was a completely unique concept.I didn't see the Hamilton movie, only the musical. It was clear that they were taking the entire concept in a completely different direction not just recreating the story about Alexander Hamilton. I don't think anyone was the same race as the actual historical person.
I use it more to help strengthen and develop my arguments than anything else. I know what I believe, but I struggle sometimes to put the "why I believe it" into words. Several of the "other side" posters on here have helped me to formulate my opinions, whether that was their intent, or not.Most of y’all make me laugh. Many of you are intelligent and articulate.
Yet, you engage over and over and over again with trolls.
Quit giving the trolls hard-ons.
- Do you think you’ll win?
- Do you think you’ll change the troll’s mind?
- Do you think anyone is reading your replies to the troll and thinking, “That’s an impressive statement?” Hint. Almost NO ONE is reading your interactions with the troll aside from MAYBE the troll. And, that’s doubtful.
I get it, but I enjoy it. Don’t care about winning, but I do think I have at least made some reconsider some stances, but I don’t even know if that is a goal of mine. I am fine if nobody else reads but some do because others also respond to what I’m saying at times.Most of y’all make me laugh. Many of you are intelligent and articulate.

for the 2nd time, the original little mermaid didn't have a certain look or ethnicity. hans christian andersen described her as having "eyes as blue as the deepest see." no mention of hair or skin color.I think I did, but maybe not.

That's not what I said. I said that you took exception to two fictional characters being portrayed by someone who isn't white enough for your taste...did you not?There are more and less qualified people for any job, but there are no white or black jobs. It made sense for Jamie Fox to play Ray Charles. That doesn't mean that portraying singers in a movie is a "black job".
It wouldn't make sense for Colin Farrell to play Ray Charles. That doesn't mean white people can't play singers in movies.
