i was watching the game at my parents house, they had cable/internet and i didn't earlier today due helene impacts.

my mom could not understand why i was melting down so hard when it was 2-2. she understands how football works, knows a draw isn't the worst and she knows that the prem season is still very young but she doesn't know the up to date context of this PL race.

i explained to her that we absolutely could NOT drop any points at home to a relegation level team in the midst of all of this jockeying with city.

Was at the Miami-Columbus game tonight to see the GOAT in person. Ref was utter horse manure and still a penalty save away from a tie.
MLS refs are challenging ACC football refs for dog shit supremacy.

Two Chicago goals after obvious offsides not called resulted in no reviews and a yellow card to Kahlina.

One of our wingers got spiked in the knee, and he called the foul on us.

does united finally dump ten hag? drawing with villa is one of their better results of the season but still feels like he's a dead man walking

the end of chelsea/forest was frenetic. blues dropping points at home is delightful. their fans have been getting a little too chesty lately.

forest being pretty damn good might be the biggest surprise of the season thus far.

FUCKINGHELLMAN.

taking just 2 points with our B team from city/liverpool despite being the better team in both matches with nasty officiating decisions thrown in against us is nauseating.

i cannot wait to get odegaard back.

The problem is we are getting no breaks this season. Injuries. Red cards. Suspensions.

We have been the better team in every game but already 5 points back of City. By the time we get really rolling it may be too late. City are always unstoppable in the back half of the season.

i was feeling pretty fatalistic about it all earlier in the heat of snatching that draw from the jaws of victory but thankfully there's still 6 months of football left to play.

i really think we're going to do some serious work when we get ode back.

the tenacity we've shown scrapping for pretty damn good results through a bunch of difficult circumstances is really encouraging. gritty stuff from the boys.

In the meantime....at the other end of the Table, my Toffees have had a nice 5 match run that we "should" extend to 6 this coming weekend.

I dunno, I think City are gonna have a hard time sustaining that sort of dominant stretch run this year with no Rodri and an aging. injured De Bruyne with one foot out the door to Saudi Arabia or MLS. The spine of the team just isn't there without those guys. But I would totally feel like you do if I was an Arsenal fan; the last 5 years or so have felt like Lucy finding new and more painful ways to jerk the football away from Charlie Brown.

Everything went our way out of the gate last year and then they ran us down when we only lost one game after like February. It’s not a good feeling to fall 5 points back of the machine this early.
