"McDonald's executives said that traffic among middle-income diners fell by "nearly double digits" alongside an ongoing drop-off among low-income ones."

How do they know this? They don't know the financial status of people who roll through their drive-thru.

I’d guess they’re using store locations as approximations for clientele income. Eg, those on wealthier areas vs. poorer neighborhoods.

Probably also add in their app data.

I've had several apps weirdly ask for demographic information in your profile, like income. It's not mandatory.

I usually put my annual income at 1 dollar, if I choose to fill in that field.

Could MC/V or Google or Meta or……..,be selling that data to companies?

They can take a sample. Give people $5 off if they fill out a survey. There are lots of ways.

This is why Trump wants all truck drivers to speak fluent English. They know freight is going to drop precipitously and truck drivers will be hurt. By requiring fluency in English, they get rid of the hispanic truck drivers and keep the native English speakers who are most likely to vote for Trump. So the people who bear the brunt of the drop in shipments are people Trump wants to hurt anyway.
How about any truck drivers need to be able to interpret the big green signs along the highways even if they dont have pics?

Ah yes. Fluent English is required to interpret "right lane closed."

Here's the thing about you MAGAs: you're always saying that X or Y needs to be done because otherwise catastrophe. But you have no explanation for how we've managed to avoid that catastrophe for generations without doing your stupid MAGA things. Like Trump says that Canada doesn't work as a country, only as a state. Oh, really? So the last 125 years of it working as a country just didn't happen?

Same thing here: we've had immigrant truck drivers for generations. Somehow they've managed to do their jobs just fine up until now. Are you telling us that the accident rate for non-fluent English speakers is particularly high? Link?

Probably you don't know that there's so much automation in truck cabs these days that no driver has to interpret signs on his own. Not only does the computer system recognize it, but it literally will not let the driver ignore the sign's instructions (or at least makes it very difficult and perhaps costly to do so).

This Jim Crow logic fell out of favor long ago, along with names like Orval Faubus.

You're literally taking a stereotype drawn from isolated members of an ethnic group, and then applying that stereotype to others. And you wonder why people see wuffies as stupid and racist. That's about as racist as it gets.

No,that is your opinion. I dont see a problem with requiring those entering the US legally, obtaining a job that requires driving and following all our laws. I suppose you think signage should be in 10 different languages too.
Learn the language of the country you wish reside -it helps everyone.
16 times he was asked to leave !
"isolated "my arse
I bet he liked Budweiser though.

The writing on road signs in this country is at about a 3rd grade comprehension level. Is this really a challenge?

Plus the vast majority of road signs are accompanied by visual signals, shape, color, pictures.
