I know someone planning to retire this year who is a diehard Trump supporter. Recently we got into a debate about how tariffs are a dangerous game of economic chicken that are going to cause a lot of pain for a lot of people unnecessarily. His response was that it was needed in order to "fix things.” I asked him if all manufacturing returned to the United States tomorrow, how would it directly help him as someone on the doorsteps of retirement- no answer. I asked him if it took a decade for manufacturing to return *and* we suffer another lost decade in terms of market growth how would it help him- no answer.

Best of luck, hoss.
If they say we need the pain...

They are fox news parrots 🦜 and incapable of reasonable thought.

France-based Eutelsat has launched its new low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite internet service for aviation, with Air Canada becoming the first commercial airline to adopt its tech.

The service, powered by UK-based OneWeb’s satellite network, is positioned as a direct competitor to SpaceX’s Starlink, which is already in use by WestJet.

I miss Jared Kushner. I realize now, that the 2.5 billion he got from Saudi Arabia was earned for containing Trump's derangement.
Nah, Kushner is a source of derangement.

Fact is that Trump wasn't as deranged in his first term. This is because:

1. he was less demented
2. he hadn't had people "of faith" telling him he was the pope and Jesus wrapped up in one for almost a decade
3. he didn't have criminal immunity
4. he didn't have time for the right-wingers to prepare a manifesto.

He didn't see himself as a messianic figure. Always a narcissist, but more of a "I'm the greatest and I will enjoy all my greatness on the golf course and watching TV" than a "I must save the world by remaking it all in my own image."

Also, Elon is surely pushing Trump into further and further narcissism and derangement.

I sold my 575 SPY puts today (only one contract - 100 shares). That basically covers all of the other puts I bought. It is all house money now.

Canada announces it will build a coalition of countries who share their values to build their economy and trade opportunities and will exclude the United States. Prime Minister Mark Carney says: “If the U.S. no longer wants to lead, Canada will.”

After all the damage is done, Trump will remove tariffs and Callatoroy will show up and tell us he was right all along about the tariffs being a negotiation tactic.
