To be fair, I think many MAGA folks have been so inculcated with propaganda about “tHe BIdeN CRiMe FAmiLY!!!111” that they view Trump’s actions as just deserts.Oh they see it. They like it. It's exactly what his trash supporters would do if they were in his shoes and it's why they so easily shrug it off. They are living vicariously through Trump.
I don't think it is. That's the sanewashing explanation. I'd say the real story is that Trump and his people have absolutely no idea what they are doing, and Trump himself is so mentally weak that he's being played by two different sides.I sure hope all this tariff on-again off-again is market manipulation.
I agree with you.I don't think it is. That's the sanewashing explanation. I'd say the real story is that Trump and his people have absolutely no idea what they are doing, and Trump himself is so mentally weak that he's being played by two different sides.
There's Bessent and Moran, who want universal tariffs and not so much country-specific ones (though Moran sacrificed all of his credibility when he recently said Trump's views of international trade were correct), and then there's the Lutnick faction of retaliation and yay America tariffs. Navarro is apparently in his ear whispering about bringing back manufacturing with tariffs.
Obviously, you did not attend Trump University .I don't think it is. That's the sanewashing explanation. I'd say the real story is that Trump and his people have absolutely no idea what they are doing, and Trump himself is so mentally weak that he's being played by two different sides.

If he has any debt it will be long gone when his 16th year in office is complete.Trump is literally using the presidency to make money. How can people not see this?
I TAUGHT at Trump U. Didn't you take my course The Cultural Lability of Real Estate "Fraud"? It went through many titles as I negotiated with the administrators:Obviously, you did not attend Trump University .
This is a simple strategy that we learned from the intro course "Insider Trading 101" ... As a summa cum laude graduate from Trump University I have made millions over the last few weeks. Too bad you went to some lame ass elite university that filled your head with useless shit like fake knowledge and stuff.
Probably pays better than Trump U anyway....That's when I quit and took up residence on the ZZL
I was pursuing a BA in grifting and those courses were not required . I thought about taking that course in real estate fraud as an elective but after looking at the course description with its big words that I did not understand and all the required readings in the syllabus that required reading, I decided to take " How to Enrich Yourself With the Establishment of a Charitable Foundation "I TAUGHT at Trump U. Didn't you take my course The Cultural Lability of Real Estate "Fraud"? It went through many titles as I negotiated with the administrators:
The Cultural Lability of Real Estate Fraud.
Then they made me insert some scare quotes: The Cultural Lability of "Real Estate" "Fraud".
Then they made me take out some scare quotes, so I started over: Hegemonic Narratives: Woke Brokers And Broke Tokers.
Nobody knew what this meant, so they gave me a course that they thought better fit their student enrollment: Happy Hour
That's when I quit and took up residence on the ZZL
You should have looked to page 2 of the syllabus. The entirety was Fuck Trump, Fuck Trump, Fuck Trump x 100. I felt safe because it was on page 2. No danger of that being seen.I was pursuing a BA in grifting and those courses were not required . I thought about taking that course in real estate fraud as an elective but after looking at the course description with its big words that I did not understand and all the required readings in the syllabus that required reading, I decided to take " How to Enrich Yourself With the Establishment of a Charitable Foundation "
It definitely looks better on the CV.Probably pays better than Trump U anyway....
This administration’s policy, after grifting, is to advance us to the past. The days of the Kaiser Shipyards building hundreds of Victory and Liberty ships are long gone.
And points and rotor buttons. This administration’s policy, after grifting, is to advance us to the past.
Maybe he will require Ford and Chevy to re-release some classic '60's and '70's era cars. With carburetors of course.
I thought the professors at Trump U paid for the privilege of working with trump.Probably pays better than Trump U anyway....
“… As market economist David Rosenberg of Rosenberg Research put it in a Wednesday note: “The question is, at what point will the President’s credibility become impaired because you only get so many tries at kicking the tariff can down the road … As for the markets, they are playing the role of dog in President Trump’s impersonation of Ivan Pavlov.”The ‘TACO trade’ is the talk of Wall Street. Here’s one way to play it.
Tariff threats may still offer near-term opportunity but won’t determine market’s next big move, strategist says

“… Wall Street loves a catchy acronym, and the TACO trade, coined earlier this month by Financial Times columnist Robert Armstrong, has captured the mood as investors and analysts attempt to make sense of the roller-coaster market action that has followed President Donald Trump’s sweeping tariff threats and subsequent walk-backs.
It stands for “Trump always chickens out.” The idea is that investors have profited by buying the dip that has followed Trump’s tariff threats….”
Quoting as emphasis in case any of our MAGA lurkers are still clinging to the notion that Trump is some master negotiator and has a plan (or even a clue) in regards to the tariffs. The ‘TACO trade’ is the talk of Wall Street. Here’s one way to play it.

He rants like a badly behaved child …
“… Biden. This country was dying. You know we have the hottest country anywhere in the world. I went to Saudi Arabia, the king told me, he said you’ve got the hottest [tries to say country, says kum], we have the hottest country in the world right now. Six months ago this country was stone cold dead. We had a dead country. We had a country people didn’t think was going to survive and you ask a nasty question like that. Uh It’s called negotiations and you set a number and if you go down you know if I set a number at a ridiculous high number and I go down a litttle bit you know a little bit they want me to hold than number you know 145% tariff, even I said that really got up. You know how it got? Because of fentanyl and all and many other things and you added it up. I said where are we now? We’re at 145% and I said wooo that’s high. We were very nice to China. I don’t know if they’re going to be nice to us but we were very nice to China. And in many ways I think we really helped China tremendously because you know they were having great difficulty because we were basically going cold turkey with them … because of the tariffs. I knew that. But don’t ever say what you said. That’s a nasty question…”
