Teamsters will withhold endorsement

I have no idea. I just know that polls consistently put the economy as the number one or number two issue for Republicans. I'm going to assume that extends to the subset of teamsters who support Trump over Harris.

That could be inflation or jobs or I guess even immigration but to just dismiss it as racism is a great way to lose voters.
It is ignorance and listening to people who consistently lie to them.

According to recent data unemployment in the transportation sector is 5.7%, while trucking is 4.5%. But it is trending down in recent months.

Maybe. Or maybe Kamala isn't nearly as good at connecting with the teamster rank and file as Joe.

Everything doesn't have to be racism or sexism. Attributing those causes to everyone that doesn't vote for you is a problem for the Democrats. It might feel good on a message board but it doesn't win elections.
Well, the info you’ve posted showed that when the Democratic nominee is a male, they’ve supported the Democratic nominee, but the two times the Dem nominee is a female all of a sudden their support flips to the Republican.

Yeah. Its possible. Its also possible that Bill and Obama are much, much better politicians than Hillary and Kamala and that Joe has been connecting with the union leadership and rank and file for 40 years.

Does it mean anything to them that they are wrong about that? Impervious ignorance isn't necessarily the fault of the teacher. They've been presented with the facts. You can lead a horse to water, etc. Afterwards, it's time for some personal responsibility, don't you think?
I don't think dismissing someone's feelings about an issue despite it not being grounded in facts is a great strategy to win elections. I think you have to continue to educate and get them focused on issues where you have more strength.

Three months of a national campaign isn't time to educate a recalcitrant group of the willfully ignorant. They actually have a personal responsibility here that the candidate doesn't.

And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet. Mathew 10:14

Can't do it. By then, they had gone from benevolent concern and conversation to Papal bull, oops, I mean Bulls and the divine right of kings.

Jesus knew but Christians forgot. It's the difference between Jesus's disciples and Christian soldiers. The soldiers get drafted and take orders and the leaders get the bebefits.

Lols. I know right. Making a dumb argument and then citing a book of myths that bunch of illiterate peasants a thousand years ago believed is about the most medieval thing I can think of.

Just pointing out that the idea of essentially throwing good money after bad is an old concept and traditionally supported.

Well, there were some undertones but figured you'd either miss or ignore them.

Misogynistic groups of like minded paternalistic fools are the Occam's razor of your initial post. I think you know that but want folks to "educate" the willfully ignorant/prejudiced folks that basically don't care or want to learn. What is it MAGA said about feelings? That's right "Fuck your feelings!"

I think it's jobs. You could translate that to Hispanics driving trucks or gas prices or not getting enough loads. Even if it is racism for some of them, those people vote And the majority of people Dad don't think they're racists don't like being called racist. Calling the majority of your potential electorate racist isn't a position that drives a lot of votes.
The Harris campaign isn't taking that position. They are trying to win every available vote. I'm just bringing up the point that it has been shown that MAGAs who claim to be MAGA because of economic reasons are often really MAGA because of racism.

That hurts. After getting a historic contract at UPS, largely due to Biden support, and some great contracts at ABinbev and the Red Cross, the Teamsters decline to endorse either candidate. The union has said that a large majority of their membership support Trump. Ouch.

We need some changes to our platform.

Teamsters local 89 which represents over 12,000 Louisville area UPS workers endorses Harris.

I'm just saying Finesse owns you... you're his beeyotch. Accept it and move on. ;)

Former Teamsters leader criticizes non-endorsement of Harris for president

James P. Hoffa, who led the Teamsters for 23 years, said it was a mistake for the union not to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris, the “correct choice for labor.”

I believe a majority of Teamsters (by representation) have now endorsed Harris.
Possibly. Some reports from a couple days ago still had Teamsters 60%-40% for Trump... but that may have changed in the latest polling. Our Yellowjacket friend from GaTech likes to claim its a big deal that the Teamsters "leader" didn't endorse Harris... but the FACT remains, they didn't endorse trump either! No "official" endorsement either way. But the ramblin wreck wants to troll the board... but as the days go by, we may just see - as you say - "the majority of Teamsters (by representation) have now endorsed Harris"

Eff the jacket... he's going on ignore sooner than later. Once the majority of the board puts him on ignore - or even super ignore - he'll be out like a light, never to be seen or heard from again
