Left work a little later than I should have. Got a bit sketchy in some places, but home safe with a brew and a poker game tonight.

Sleet and snow mix here in NW WS.

Just checked Weather Underground. They're now saying 5-8 inches overnight here. Seems to be an outlier, but they're usually more accurate than most....

Started out as sleet in Garner-say 4:30- the last couple of hours a mix of snow and sleet . It is measurable-1000 plus day drought done on measurable wintry precipitation

Yes, here in Greensboro WU is predicting we get heavy snow for the next few hours - 4 inches in the next four hours or so. But I'm not seeing much come down at the moment, so I'm skeptical.

Note - WU immediately walked this back like 15 minutes later (of course)

A little snow, a little sleet, mostly 27 degree freezing rain
Go ahead and stop

SW Orange County…..28 degrees….maybe 1/2-3/4 an inch of snow and it’s been sleeting for a good 30 minutes.

Hoping for no freezing rain.

Here in Raleigh near North Hills…barely flurrying and very light freezing rain. Weather service now saying mostly freezing rain for the rest of the event which could mean power issues.

What a non-event. They consistently predict larger snow totals than we end up getting. It was the same in DC.

I will not complain to my meteorologist brother as he is tired of hearing it. (Although about 30 years ago in west Texas his office predicted all rain and they got over 10” - haha.)

Got some snow followed by some sleet and freezing rain in Denver NC. Maybe half an inch?

But was up in Boone area in the morning to get our son back on campus for the start of the second semester (originally planned to take him Sunday) and it started snowing there between 10:30 or 11 am and was quickly accumulating.

He sent photos last night

Forecast looks like several days of melt then refreeze. Be careful on those morning drives, folks!

Total bust in Wilson as far as any accumulation. We were on the outer band to start with, so it was always a longshot for us to get much of anything. It did snow (not sleet or freezing rain) moderately hard for a few hours in the early evening and then petered out, but it was still nice to see real snow falling. Doesn't appear we got much if any of the freezing rain they were calling for in the wee hours either...

Underwhelming in Charlotte. Local news is showing pictures people send in and I am less than impressed.
I walked to a neighbor’s house in my neighborhood in Charlotte last night around 7:00 and it was just raining. Not even anything icy (which is a good thing), but pure rain. Total letdown. We got about an hour’s worth of snowfall, and while it looked pretty falling, it mostly did not stick. Once it started to stick, my kids and I got all our warm clothes on and went outside. Right when we got outside, it turned to sleet. No more snow after that.

This map suggests we got an inch here but my eyes say not even half that.

Looked up some snow totals for NC. Most was in West Jefferson with 6.5. Nobody else on the list hit 5 inches. Most were 1-3. The storm really fizzled out.
