Snow is starting to the west and south of NC sooner than forecasted.
There are also some models showing no snow for Raleigh and freezing rain .25 and higher. WRAL is already tempering snow accumulations and starting to mention more ice. It is a typical central NC winter storm. You aren't going to know until it happens.

Starting in earnest in Forsyth county. First flakes a few minutes ago now it’s coming down good.

I realized yesterday evening I was almost out of milk, so I decided to go to Walmart.

They were out of all milk except a few gallons of skim, which I'm perfectly ok with.

I also bought bagels while I was there, so it's like I bought milk and bread.

I'm ready for the snow to start.

We got about 3.5” in Atlanta before it turned to sleet and freezing rain and now it’s a cold rain. But 3.5” was certainly a nice surprise and all the kids had fun this morning playing in it.

Think it had been 7 years since we had any real accumulating snow here.

I was just out walking the dog in Uptown Charlotte, and it is a snow/sleet mixture. Looking out the window it appears to be more snow coming down now. I have no expectations of significant accumulation. They are calling for an ice storm overnight and that sucks.

Snow coming down in earnest in WS.

Saw two accidents downtown before I made it home. I chock it up to 1. people being stupid, 2. people forgetting how to drive in this crap, and 3. new drivers who haven't experienced this before (one was outside the WFU entrance on University Parkway).

Had a nice cigar and watched at least a 1/4 inch fall in 40 or so minutes before heading in. Enjoy it while it lasts, ladies and gentlemen.

A winter wonderland here just west of Greensboro. Well, maybe an inch and half so far. But a constant steady slow snow. The pond outside my business/office, actually froze before snow started and settled on top. Never seen that before.1000015273.jpg
