When was the last time there was a commercial airline crash that could be blamed on air traffic controller error? i'd say those guys have a pretty good record. Stellar, in fact. Not sure where you're getting woefully short from, but based on the results, i.e., no midair collisions or other mishaps attributable to the controllers, there's no question that they've been qualified...
They've done a tremendous job, particularly if they've been understaffed. Apparently, there have been a lot of near misses at Reagan so it may be that they've been lucky.

Look, I just want the most qualified individuals hired to be ATC.
No you don't. lf you did, you'd be shutting up given that it seems indisputable that the cause of the crash was pilot error by the white guy. ATC performed remarkably well, as did all the rescue people on the ground. If you listen to the audio tapes, you can hear black accents in the voices of some of the personnel (not surprising given DC's large black population) and they all did their jobs.

The only person who didn't do his job was the pilot. That's not because he's white; it's not because he's inexperienced; it's not because he had bad morale. It's almost certainly because people screw up from time to time. It's why we have auto accidents. And instead of rushing out to point fingers, reasonable people appreciate that tragedy is part of life because of human fallibility.

But see, you ain't even sat down yet.

Clearly the pilot was at fault BUT there possibly could have been better communication with the pilot by the ATC - which was understaffed. Until you just mentioned it I had no idea of the racial makeup of the ATC at Reagan that evening.

I've stated I want to wait until the completion of the investigation.

Interesting. Hard to disagree with this. Except that we're then paying for these criminals to be incarcerated. (Guetmo?) But I agree that letting them go—and potentially find their way back here—is probably worse.
From recent reports we are paying a lot to deport them also. It seems to be more because we are using military aircraft.

So, it's hard to judge the cost of them serving a sentence here then leaving vs immediate deportation and the cost if they return.

I would think that we would have increased penalties if a person convicted of certain level of crime attempts to return to the US.

Since we're discussing Trump policies. Elon just announced on X that DOGE has already saved taxpayers 1B in cancelled DEI contracts across numerous government agencies. More to come.

Move to strike! Pub is in the White House now. Thus, federal spending is irrelevant.

It was an unnecessary charge. There were people at the BLM riots saying MUCH more inflammatory things that were never charged.
The BLM "riots" as you call them, have no where near the implications of J6. BLM wasn't trying to overthrow the government.

Additionally I hope everyone who committed crimes at this events were also charged.

Let's assume this is true, which is obviously dubious, but if he can just find enough contracts to contribute this level of savings 100 more times then he can shave a whopping 1.5% off the annual budget. Of course that and more will be lost to the proposed Trump tax cuts, which you support, so spare us all with your false concern over the deficit.

I don't know the racial makeup either. That's the point. It seems likely that some of the voices on that audio were from black people. Black accents are recognizable but not close to 100%.

There was no possibility of better communication from what I heard. Two times the tower told the copter about the plane. Two times the copter says it saw them. It also instructed the copter to go behind the jet. From what I read online, the reason that the copters go to visual separation is that people don't want the military craft to be taking instruction from the tower, because the tower doesn't know the military craft's objectives and what is a pilot to do if his commanding officer says, "I need you to be in location X pronto" and the tower says, "I can't get you to location X because of traffic."

The tower did its job. You're just trying to deflect blame from Trump's bullshit.

So, Trump is fucking me with high interest rates, he wants to fuck me with higher taxes, and now he is fucking my investments.
Can’t wait until the republicans raid my social security and Medicare.
Oh, but ladifuckingda Mark Zuckerberg canceled DEI initiatives. Who gives a flying crap, for real.

Tell me again why Trump is good for me and my family? Anyone? Bueller?

I'm all for punishing criminals. A year of probation for trespassing.... that seems excessive.

Was that a Drexl Spivey quote at the end?
