Lord have mercy. Stock market is tanking today, the Trump economy is unraveling, egg prices are breaking record highs, gas prices going up, inflation increasing, mortgage rates unaffordable, the Trump southern border is completely unsecured, and we are about to get slapped with massive retaliatory tariff by our closest trading partners. Not to mention, Trump is literally killing people in the skies over America and opening up our prisons and letting violent offenders out on the streets with full pardons.

Can’t imagine a much more disastrous start to a presidency. Hopefully things get better and we start winning again soon.
Hair on fire much?

Hair on fire much?
Heck no. This thing is a complete and utter disaster by every objective measure! Joe Biden built the greatest economy the world has ever seen over the last four years, got our violent crime rate down to generational lows, got unemployment down to record lows, had the stock market booming at all-time highs, had inflation completely tamed, and had the southern border experiencing the fewest number of illegal crossings in five years. It has taken the Trump administration less than a fortnight to destroy all of that hard work. SAD!

Oh, and the Trump aviation disaster killed more people than the Biden Afghanistan disaster. Unbelievable. We used to have a country. We used to have safe skies.

US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) statistics show Biden oversaw 1.3 million more deportations during his first two years in office than Trump achieved during his entire first term. Obama also deported 30,000 more than Trump during his first four years.
Do you honestly not see the flaw in that? Why post something that is incomplete and misleading?

Personally I'm ok if they want to transition back to the office.

My objection is more to how they are doing it and the transparent attempt to use it to get rid of employees.
They are literally offering 8 months of severance. Of course they are doing it to shrink the number of employees. He stated all along a goal was to shrink the size of the fed G’ment. And just about every country in the country uses that tactic but they sure as hell offer 8 months of severance and continued benefit. You would think this board might find some good in that but no acknowledgment so far.

Yeah. I will say, I started the thread as an attempted goodwill gesture to give Trump supporters or ideological conservatives a thread in which we could actually try to analyze and discuss the merits and demerits of Trump administration policy. It’s no secret or surprise that the overwhelming majority of this board community does not like Donald Trump, but I thought it would perhaps be helpful for there to be a specific thread discussing policies.

As far as the current performance of Trump 2.0, I can’t imagine anyone other than the true dyed in the wool MAGAs believe that these first two weeks have been anything good. Trump has already badly bungled the first crisis of his second presidency.
I completely disagree. 1. I can’t discuss anything on a freaking iPad. 2. His comments about blaming DEI for the crash was really bad. However, it has caused a national examination of how DEI has crept into the nation’s aviation mgt which has been really good and eye opening. Since his brutal initial comments he has been dead on.

EO eliminating DEI from the military and fed G’ment has been a massive win. I realize this will get blasted by most on here but this is a great example of policy disagreements that is to be expected. So any discussion going forward about trump’s action should be about the policy of ending it vs keeping it. Not trump. He has already cast that stone.

To be fair, trump could have taken his current stand during his first term but didn’t. I fully support his current stance. Fuck DEI when it comes to something like ATC. That should be 100% merit based. I don’t give a damn if they are all male, all female, all white, all black, all anything. Only the best, most qualified people should fill those roles. Dumbing it down because of some political ideology is just poor common sense.

I hear you, and agree with you completely on principle. I’m asking because I sincerely do not know, but is there any proof that hiring air traffic controllers has been dumbed down?

And every conservative on here admits he is (was) wrong to do so. Why continue to harp on it when the entire board agrees? That was rhetorical. I know why.
Sorry, my friend. Conservatives who don’t want to have Trump’s idiocy and corruption rubbed in their faces had every opportunity to make a different choice on November 5.

Completely agree with you. Deport any illegal immigrants who commit crimes, post haste. No argument from me whatsoever there. I'm almost certain that the Biden administration did just that, as well. I just wish we'd leave the folks alone who are here to work hard, who pay taxes (and receive virtually no benefit from paying taxes by virtue of being non-citizens), and who comprise the backbone of our economy by doing a whole lot of important jobs that most of the rest of us don't want to do.
Many of those folks are criminals too if they entered the country illegally. Can’t just turn a blind eye to that. This board is all about hating on those who illegally entered the capital on Jan 6. Most were not violent. Many were taking advantage to get into the capital to go places where the public isn’t usually allowed. I get they were going to get prosecuted for trespassing or whatever. Well you can’t hate on those folks and then turn a blind eye to people who came into the country illegally. There is a parallel that exist for those who weren’t violent or damaging property.

When was the last time there was a commercial airline crash that could be blamed on air traffic controller error? i'd say those guys have a pretty good record. Stellar, in fact. Not sure where you're getting woefully short from, but based on the results, i.e., no midair collisions or other mishaps attributable to the controllers, there's no question that they've been qualified...
There are often close misses. To imply we don’t need better qualified and competent ATC is wrong. As someone else said today, when you or a loved one is flying into an airport or just on a plane, what’s more important to you, the color of their skin and what gender they are or how much experience they have and how competent they are. Are you really saying with something as critical as ATC that it’s ok to not seek to have the best?

So you’re agreeing Trump should treat nonviolent J6 protestors and nonviolent undocumented immigrants the same way?

Move to strike! Pub is in the White House now. Thus, federal spending is irrelevant.
Just can’t get away from it can you. He has signed a gazillion EO and you can’t find at least one that you think is a plus for the country. The only logic behind that is obsessive hatred and an inability to have any propensity for objective thought. Hell, I hate Biden almost as much as you do trump but I can certainly find things he did that were positive for the country and not be ashamed to admit them.
