Trump Addresses The Nation

The reality, with that horrible 18 minutes the other night as the prime example, is that Fox and friends will try to defend the indefensible and the liberal media will zero in on every mistake (lie) Trump tells. Each source has a loyal audience that thrives and depends on them feeding us the same garbage. Luckily for those who know how to read there are plenty of sources that are objective in their reporting. But it’s more about entertainment than gaining knowledge. So TV will always win out.
Do you believe there is any manner that changes the current path the media is on?

I disagree regarding MSNBC. A quick google search can provide you example after example where MSNBC's reporting was factually incorrect, intentionally misleading, and where its hosts peddled false narratives.

But the point isn't a single source vs another source. It's the entire media universe. Again, the fact that we have left or right media is itself the problem. We should have news media that doesn't cater to one side or the other. The existing model is nothing but divisive and harmful to society.
I watch Nicole Wallace and Chris Hayes every night. Not once have I seen them being factually misleading or peddling false narratives so I have to respectfully call you out.

We have always had media with an ideological slant. Granted, the news reporting landscape has taken on multiple forms over the years — we’ve all heard of “Yellow Journalism,” for example. “The Federalist Papers” appeared in the media of the time. Cronkite or Murrow helped shape public opinion through TV (and radio to an extent). That is what The First Amendment was established to protect. There was once a dialectic by which the people might reach decisions.

At present we’re badly out of sync - the meme thread on the front page right now discusses some of that phenomenon - I would contend that trumpism hitched itself to Fox and has managed to strike hard and perhaps permanent damage to discourse through an utter abandonment of reality and an embrace of self-serving made-up reality (that trump won the 2020 election for example or more broadly his complete dishonesty on every subject of which he speaks)…Fox and lesser rightist media have taken up that way and amplified it. This has not happened in the center (there are very few leftist medias that are popular - Democracy Now! Is probably the most prominent - but it is also by far one of the most reality-based deliverers of news).

If MAGA didn't have false equivalence, they wouldn't have any equivalence at all. Or equality. Which they don't like. Except for them.

I absolutely believe that things will change. They always do. They will provide whatever gets viewers. So they will change as viewers change. The question is whether viewers will begin to demand better? That I don’t have much optimism.
Kids like 40 and below don't watch any news, at all
Weird shit-but that what I see And I am talking kids with masters degrees and kids that are Mechanics

So many of the owners of media own them as parts of their holdings. It's not exactly the same sort of profit motive. It's possible to use parts of the media as ,in effect, loss leaders if the overall profits or power of the holdings increase. Profits and views should still be motivators but might not be so immediately responsive.

From some of the interviews Jordan Klepper does some only get an infusion of truth social and that's their opinion.

I don't watch any. I follow what catches my interest on line in various and sundry ways.
