Yes, I am. Because trump hasn't followed society's standards, that has no bearing on what we should be teaching students with respect to national security and our borders. Not a very good argument on your part. Our institutions of higher learning should be setting an example of following the law and because 1 person didn't in certain cases doesn't mean the goal of teaching society to follow the law is out of the window.
It is true that children learn more watching actions than being told how to act. The country really missed the mark telling everyone that we follow the rule of law then the SCOTUS rulling the the President didn't need to.

Imagine looking at any of this- all of which could probably have been solved by a telephone call in advance- and then trying to suggest with a straight face that it has to do with Trump's concerns about American coffee consumption.

Just complete clown shoes.
It was so absurd I just assumed it had to be a troll or tongue-in-cheek, but it's impossible to know for sure with today's American right.

I don't drink coffee so... Also, trump is likely concerned about the negative effects of caffeine on the body so he is likely thinking it will cause people to drink less caffeine and we will be a healthier country.
Wow. Trump doesn't give a fuck about anyone's health. This is about his authority and the Colombian leader not bending the knee.

There are four terms by which I say you can gauge a moron.

1. They call other people "sheep."
2. They call other people "sheeple."
3. They say, "your ilk."
4. They describe themselves as a "free thinker."

Trump officials issue quotas to ICE officers to ramp up arrests

The administration wants to increase the number of arrests from a few hundred per day to at least 1,200 to 1,500, increasing the chances that non-criminals will be detained.

“U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials have been directed by Trump officials to aggressively ramp up the number of people they arrest, from a few hundred per day to at least 1,200 to 1,500, because the president has been disappointed with the results of his mass deportation campaign so far, according to four people with knowledge of the briefings.

… White House “border czar” Tom Homan has said for weeks that ICE would not conduct mass roundups and its officers would prioritize immigrants with criminal records and who are gang members. But the quotas issued this weekend would place ICE officers under more pressure to seize a wider range of potential deportees to avoid reprimand, including immigrants who have not committed crimes.

… ICE officers deployed aggressively during President Donald Trump’s first week in office, boosting the number of immigrants taken into custody from fewer than 400 on Tuesday to nearly 600 on Friday. The number declined to 286 on Saturday, according to ICE. …”

I see the disinfectant where it knocks the caffeine out in a minute. One minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning?

It has all the bearing in the world. Thoughts without actions are hypocritical and counterproductive. A society that elects Donald Trump cannot teach anything of moral or ethical value to any of its members. The ideas are simply incongruent with the larger action demonstrated by the society itself.

People who fervently work against Donald Trump and everything he stands for as well as oppose those who enable him are the only possible path to teaching the rule of law or a moral society in general.

Donald Trump is a terminal cancer on our society. We likely have exceeded the timeline for dealing with that cancer. We certainly won't deal with it by pretending his utter antipathy toward the law doesn't exist.

If they can meet their goal of 1500 per day and do so 365 days a year, they’ll meet the goal of deporting 20 million people in about 40 years.

User doesn't allow embeds, but it's the whole timeline of this Colombia thing. Worth the click through

The University of North Carolina didn't elect trump. Teaching its students to uphold the law and following federal law has no bearing on who the country elects. The university should be politically neutral and focus on its mission of educating students, not playing politics.

Colombia’s President Gustavo Petro buckles under Trump’s trade war threat — offers presidential plane for deportation flights

Colombian President Gustavo Petro quickly reversed course about accepting flights of deported migrants from the US after President Donald Trump threatened emergency tariffs of up to 50% on the South American country for refusing to cooperate.

Petro not only acquiesced to Trump’s demands, he even offered up the official Colombian presidential plane to help shuttle migrants back to the country, calling it a response to “the Government’s commitment to guarantee decent conditions.”

“The Government of Colombia, under the direction of President Gustavo Petro, has arranged the presidential plane to facilitate the dignified return of the compatriots who were going to arrive in the country today in the morning, coming from deportation flights,” a translated official statement read in part. …”

Other outlets don’t seem to be reporting this translation, so I guess we shall see.

@donbosco — have you read the response by any chance?
