You guys are on a roll. Quoting Rafael Sanchez-Cruz, george conway (lol), scary lawyerguy, and just about any other social media person who has learned to pull your strings. They have all of you worked up into a lather. And the national guard troops aren't even carrying guns. They are just assisting doing menial tasks so the cops can actually do the police work. But whatever, continue with the fascist, dictator hysteria. It worked so well the last time. Loved this comment:

"I resent that my taxes are paying for this shit. Every damn responsible citizen should revolt and refuse to pay taxes. Defund the (MILITARY) police!"

I don't care who you are, that's comedy gold right there.

So, do you see this as equal to DC?

From what I've read DC police are not overwhelmed as the article states this area is. DC also hasn't seen a two fold increase in the last two years, as the article states this area did.

As I've e said before a proper response, not a trump response.
In the sense that liberal policies and being soft on crime created both situations.

Fascist societies rhetorically cast their enemies as "at the same time too strong and too weak."
So, according to Bondi, the Deep State is made up in part of DOJ lawyers throwing Subway sandwiches at cops? And I also saw where they had arrested a delivery truck driver in DC. Yes, Trumpers are really getting to the bottom of the violent crime scene in DC! Lolz.

Nobody is worked into a lather, my friend. It’s just really fun being able to point out Republican hypocrisy- you of all people should know how deeply satisfying it is to point out hypocrisy- and those particular social media accounts- particularly Conway, a brilliant and staunch conservative- do a great job of articulating it.

Well it’s not like they won't have use of both hands since they don't have to worry about holding a gun.
Sincere question: will you keep this same energy about “well, shucks, the federal troops patrolling the streets of American cities don’t have any guns in their hands” when President Newsom sends them into Highland Park and Sandy Springs in January 2029?

Federal overreach is federal overreach is federal overreach.

His assertation, with no supporting evidence is absolutely NOT good enough for me. Nor should it be for you. Someone's going to say the statistics are wrong...prove it. Why wouldn't you want support of such a claim? Why don't you need it?
But you are believing there is no need for trump to involve himself based on what? A failed politician's claim? Random media that has proven they can lie to you and you will believe it without question? Sorry, but a first hand account from a police source living it every day carries more weight.......unless what that eyewitness says something that contradicts your political agenda and then he is unreliable.

And you'll be glad to know that your tax money is (or was) also being used (misused?) by Republicans to do a dog-and-pony show "crime crackdown" in LA that wasted hundreds of millions to no good effect, and is being used for school vouchers with little oversight that is mostly helping upper middle-class parents pay the tuition for their kids to stay in a private school that they were already able to pay for. And these are the same people who claim that because of the budget deficit we can't pay for free school lunches and Medicaid for poor people anymore. And it all makes perfect sense to them, of course.

It really is.
In the mind of MAGA perhaps, where there is no nuance.
In the sense that liberal policies and being soft on crime created both situations.

Oh this board is in a lather. and lol at george conway that is about as effective and useless as mamories on a bull (sorry 4thgen).

That's sort of forcing a square peg in a round hole, in my opinion.

Also, you noted earlier that my opinion was formed by what I consume. Which is true.

But that is true for everyone. The only ones that are a problem, in my opinion, are those that consume nothing and speak from pure ignorance.

I read things across the spectrum, I was burned when I was younger by believe because it fit my worldview, so I make sure to look for opposing information.

I've listened to interviews with noted conservative economist that said the way trump is handling tariffs is bad and the two I've recently listened to were both in support of the use of tariffs, just not how trump is using them. Also listened to an interview today with a, as he described it, constitutional conservative and he was against the approach that trump is taking with the FBI and the Justice department.

And to say that all people who are center to left are just living in an echo chamber is ridiculous. I've listened to multiple liberals that talk about the mistakes the party made and the changes the party needs.

You also mentioned morality earlier. Please explain how a man who's had multiple divorces, cheated on multiple wives, paid for sex, been accused of multiple rapes, been accused of being a pedophile, and the list goes on, is in anyway considered moral?

Here is the plan. Make a big show and when the crime rate continues to decrease claim that it is all because of Trump.
No doubt. Right now they're all ridiculing and disbelieving the multiple statistics showing that crime has been steadily dropping in DC and in our cities generally, but as soon as some data is out showing that crime has declined in DC since Trump deployed the troops they'll be all over that like Dear Leader eating a bucket of KFC, and will trumpet it as a sign of Trump's brilliant success in cutting the crime rate in DC - which was already in decline. And their skepticism and dismissal of the crime statistics will abruptly vanish. What a world we live in.

You spelled “law enforcement leadership has been fudging data” wrong.

Is is possible that the reason that you don’t like Conway is because he’s a fellow conservative who tells uncomfortable truths about Trumpism and points out Trumpian hypocrisy? Conway is a staunch conservative ideologically and, I believe, rigid Constitutionalist, so I have to imagine you’d have lots of policy agreement with him. And so, if your dislike or dismissing of Conway is due to his calling out Trump, wouldn’t that make you exactly like many of the liberals here on this board whom you chide for being sheep and opposing anyone who dares speak out against the Democratic party line?

I am "believing" that Trump didn't need to be involved because no one in an elected position to speak for the people of DC asked for federal assistance. I think the application of federal force should be based on clear and present danger. I do not think a "police source living it every day" meets that bar. I don't think the available statistics meet that bar, I don't think available facts meet that bar. What's the bar level for you to allow federal force in any town?
