Should be? OK. But it isn't and trump has a very unique personality and we have to adjust to some of the things he says and understand what he can and can't do. I'm much more concerned about other things than his comments on assuming control of gaza.
No, the motherfucker should comport himself to the office like literally any decent human would do.

I always though he was TheTacoMacArthur....whoever that was before. I don't think Taco was actually Bo.
I believe he was asked during the early days of the board but wouldn't reveal his old identity.

He's not BoTime.

It's amazing if one looks back through the last 50 years at what cost candidates and presidents in this area. Clinton had an affair in office and one would have thought he murdered several families, Kerry was berated for changing his mind, who was the candidate that went from leading to out of the race for laughing uncontrollably. All of these things are minor in comparison to the buffoon that is in office, yet now it's all acceptable.

For trump it's acceptable to:
Make fun of the handicapped.
Constantly lie.
Cheat on each of your wives.
Lie constantly.
Call everyone that disagrees with him childish names.
Denigrate people's IQ, education, skill, ability to perform a job, reason for being hired.
Attack our allies.
Etc.

I think he’s serious in his own deranged mind. I also think there’s zero chance what he’s talking about will actually happen (not the completion of the genocide — that could definitely happen).
Who is going to stop it if he really wants it to happen? Republicans won’t.

The only thing standing in his way is the chance that the military will refuse an order. I think that that is unlikely, unfortunately.

We may be past the point of no return.

The thing that makes this scheme impractical is where are the Palestinians going to go? Jordan can’t afford it. Egypt doesn’t want them and very probably is not financially able to take 1,000,000 or so refugees. The Saudis can afford it but won’t touch this issue with a ten foot pole. And, to top it all off, Gaza doesn’t belong to Trump. Why does he even think he has the right to kick these off THEIR land?

But the lesson we keep learning is not to listen to anyone in Trump’s administration except Trump. They’re ALL modern versions of the Iraqi information minister. They lie with impunity and are only charged with protecting Trump at all costs. But their problem is that Trump can’t control himself. He lets us know what he really wants to do dozens of times per day. We have to keep listening to him, not them.
I think this is very similar to the Panama Canal & Greenland topics for Trump.

He's looking really, really hard for something that he things will live on as a "signature achievement" from his presidency and he's very familiar with real estate, so his first wish is to add land to the US that he can at least have as an achievement and, more likely, he'd like to literally put his name on.

my simple analogy was a lot better. maybe you aren't trying to fully absolve the husband, but you keep focusing on the friend.

i'm interested in the welfare of the wife. not the piece of shit husband or the piece of shit friend. you pretend to hold the husband accountable while you simultaneously push the notion that the friend's actions forced the husband to murder the wife.

the husband murdered the wife. the friend did a dumb thing, but he didn't force the husband to murder the wife.

Israel is committing a genocide. hamas did a really dumb, awful thing but the idea that they forced Israel to do all of this nearly 1.5 years later is comical and obviously false and made moreso every day as we get more information and the situation continues to play-out before our eyes.
I largely dropped out of the Israel/Palestine online discussion probably 15 years ago, although I got back into it a little after 10/7 before largely exiting again.

The reason I largely exited the argument is because I realized that the disagreement came down primarily to one question: "Do you consider the Palestinians as fully human and equally deserving to rights and protections as Israelis?"

For those who answer "yes", they are largely on the side of the Palestinians. And for those that support Israel, the answer is functionally, "no".

Once I realized that the split wasn't really indicative of foreign policy or security concerns or anything like that, I lost most of my interest in the discussion because I was tired of trying to convince folks to see Palestinians as real, actual, people who should have basic human rights.

Trump’s superpower is that he says enough crazy, racist, bigoted, sexist, etc remarks that his supporters can say “he isn’t serious” and never have to defend anything he says and does. Meanwhile democrats not only defend but hold their own candidates accountable.

All those conflicting cleanup attempts by Rubio and others in the Administration yesterday? Trump is like no, fuck that, I said what I meant.

I can’t decide whether he is serious or distracting/trolling. But to think we should assume he is serious based on how his second term has begun.
“…..serious or distracting/trolling…….””

Or, seriously suffering from dementia.

I've got a signature achievement, don't fuck the country.

Here are some suggestions that would probably be memorable and qualify as a signature achievement:

Don't fire half the government.
Keep changes within reason.
Don't start a trade war.
Don't make it acceptable to marginalize minority groups.
Don't fill the government with unqualified yes men/women.
Move from concept to a plan for single payer healthcare.
Loose Nazi Musk.
Unify people.
Help to raise salaries.
Reduce the gap between the middle class and the ultra rich.

Anybody can do those things. Trump wants something big and long-lasting.

But his personality doesn't conform to my or your opinion of how the potus should speak, sound, and act. Staying angry at that is wasted emotion because he is who he is and at 78 he isn't going to change his personality. A majority of the country has made peace with that.

Because you have no morals and are fake Christians.

I agree with you when you say he is who he is . I think we all would agree. However, that’s why he shouldn’t be president.

1. Shouldn't be isn't applicable any longer. The reality is that he is
2. The left shouldn't have perpetuated the lie joe wasn't a vegetable
3. You should have had a primary and not hand picked the dumbest person to ever hold any elected office. "what can be, unburdened by what has been" Words that swept trump into office

I'll never make peace with it. I can't help that people who support him have abandoned all sense of respect for the nation and its conduct. I'm not going to follow suit.

I don't believe the majority has made peace with how he acts. I believe most expect more from the POTUS, but he was what the republicans ran, so he was the only choice for so many.

Pretty much every republican I've talked to states that they wish he would shut up and act like he's been there.
