Its not sudden. So the want to steal these people's property?
What's up with the sudden desire for land expansion?

I think if my current home was a pile of rubble located in a very dangerous neighborhood, and my neighbor's weapon supplier offered to build me a nice, modern home located in a safe neighborhood where I had a chance to actually prosper and give my family a good life, I might take him up on that offer. So, if you and your neighbors can't get along. Your neighbor has the upper hand because he has a weapons supplier that you do not. You don't want to move. You just want to live your life. You would see the neighbor's weapon supplier offering to move you and take over your property as a good thing?
I doubt many Palestinians will see being forced to leave their homea as a great option.
Sounds very much like how we started Israel in the first place which has clearly been a huge win for middle east stability and peace.I think if my current home was a pile of rubble located in a very dangerous neighborhood, and my neighbor's weapon supplier offered to build me a nice, modern home located in a safe neighborhood where I had a chance to actually prosper and give my family a good life, I might take him up on that offer.
If the new Gaza strip, wherever that may be, does not share a physical border with Israel and is able to actually give the Palestinians things they have long wanted (a state of their own, an airport, the ability to control their own trade) then this could be a net win for them. Of course, all of those "ifs" are major contingencies. If you just take 1.8 million people and put them in a new slum a few miles down the road, nothing will change for the better.
Exactly the details matter, I really doubt that trump's plan is to build them nice houses when they are resettled.I think if my current home was a pile of rubble located in a very dangerous neighborhood, and my neighbor's weapon supplier offered to build me a nice, modern home located in a safe neighborhood where I had a chance to actually prosper and give my family a good life, I might take him up on that offer.

I'd be willing to give them Florida.Sure if there was some Shangri-La out there available to move 2 million people to where they could live and prosper I suppose that would be great. But the problem is:
1) No such place exists, it would have to be built same as Gaza needs to be re-built
2) The Arab countries don't want 2 million refugee immigrants any more than we would want to take that on
3) Trump seems to think that not only the Arab countries should take them, but also foot the bill for this hypothetical utopia and
4) The Palestinians themselves don't want to leave the land their ancestors have lived on for generations
So despite all of that it's a terrific idea.

100%That’s a different question. Do you think any of this would have happened without 10/7? Hamas FAFO and innocent Palestinians bore the brunt, as usual.
That’s kind of crazy to say in totality. The whole thing started with 10/7.Longer than that. I posted an article when it all started about how the US and Israel were in talks to access the natural gas under Gaza. This was the plan all along. It never was about Hamas or the prisoners.
They’re bombing whole blocks in the West Bank. But some people will find an excuse for that too.
Of 1948? Maybe. That’s kind of crazy to say in totality. The whole thing started with 10/7.
I'd be willing to give them Florida.
Think about why 10/7 happenedThat’s kind of crazy to say in totality. The whole thing started with 10/7.
Because a terrorist organization is in charge of a people. The Palestinians supposedly don’t want Hamas dictating and governing them. We’ve been told that over and over.Think about why 10/7 happened

Guess we’ll have to agree to disagree.100%
This has been Netanyahu and his far right people's plan for years. Why else would Netanyahu have been secretly funding Hamas and blocking elections from happening the last few years? Not to mention turning Gaza into an open-air prison to building up the tension. There was no doubt that something like that would happen. Again, go back and read the threads directly after Oct 7th. I posted that this was the plan all along, but some said I was being paranoid. I said it from the start and I'll say it again. This was never about Hamas nor the prisoners. You can stick your head in the sand and believe it was, but they aren't even hiding it anymore. Just look at the dumb smirk that Netanyahu had while Trump was suggesting this. As it was mentioned before, the West Bank is next. They've already started. Trump basically told them to accept this farce ceasefire deal and he greenlit them taking over the land. And for Gaza, once the Palestinians refuse to leave, then watch for some kind of reason where Israel will say that Hamas violated the ceasefire and they will continue with their genocide (even though Israel violated the ceasefire the first freaking day when it shot people that had returned to their homes and also a sniper took out a child that was riding a donkey.)
Think about why 10/8 happened.Think about why 10/7 happened
It's way more complicated than that. 10/7 was a horrific event and the Palestinians share a great deal of blame for the position they are in, but Israel has done terrible things as well. You can't just ignore everything that happened before 10/7. That's not a justification, just a recognition of the reality of that situation.Guess we’ll have to agree to disagree.
10/7 started all of this. Without it, there would have been no major war in Gaza. Great job, Hamas.
Agree 100%, but without 10/7 there is no 10/8. Just like without 9/11 there is no invasion of Afghanistan (or Iraq). There were root causes of 9/11 just like there were root causes of 10/7, but without those two seminal events the major military incursions afterwards simply don't happen. It's way more complicated than that. 10/7 was a horrific event and the Palestinians share a great deal of blame for the position they are in, but Israel has done terrible things as well.
