Isn’t someone who steals documents detailing the government’s highest level secrets the worst kind of ‘leaker?”
I don't know. Ask joe what he thinks. He wasn't even authorized to be in possession of them or remove them from where he viewed them. He wasn't even the potus. I'm going to go with whatever he says.

I don't know what makes me want to vomit more. That what he is saying is absolutely insane and will destroy our way of life or that this video is set to the score from The Dark Knight which is one of my favorite Hans Zimmer scores.
Good catch about the music. It actually looks like a cheesy scene from a movie lol, this guy is such a joke. How can someone watch something like this and turn around with a straight face and say “yeah he’s got my vote”.

I think the MAGA folks bit off a little more than they will be able to chew. I think there is a chance Trump 2.0 goes ok, but there is a far greater chance it goes off the rails. I'm genuinely interested in watching this play out. I did not vote for Trump any of the three times. I am a conservative, but not a MAGA movement guy. While there are some things here and there I am good with, I think this could be pretty rough. The guy wants to be an authoritarian. Lets just hope JD is playing 4D chess. That's my wife's theory/hope, JD is playing 4D chess here. Let's see.
Thing is, if you accept the premise that there is a corrupt deep state this all sort of makes sense so this won't phase a MAGA one bit.

Trump knows the deep state is all bull. If you read between the lines, the targeting of the deep state is really targeting anyone who isn't sufficiently loyal to Trump himself. And that is terrifying.

This is absolutely an authoritarian play but MAGA won't see it until it is far too late.

It's laughable to claim to be interested in "transparency and accountability" then simultaneously say you think there should be a crackdown on anyone who tries to expose governmental activities to the media. What Trump is proposing is positively Nixonian. Are you familiar with the Pentagon Papers?

What part of declassifying documents from previous governments do you think is inconsistent with fascism? Trump isn't offering to make his own government documents prospectively available. He's isn't offering more transparency into what he does. He's talking about "exposing" what he believes was improper interaction between government agencies and social media that he claims was intended to harm his campaign. Prepare yourself for four more years of hearings about Hunter Biden's laptop!
That's right. There has to be some standard or line in the sand that beyond it says a person is just trying to be an obstructionist out of political spite. I think trump has been a victim of that due to political spite. Given the hundreds of thousand of employees in the fed g'ment, intentionally trying to undermine the president's agenda due to political spite deserves action and accountability. That would be true regardless who the potus is.

Because the only hear "dismantle deep state". They don't really listen and understand what he's saying.

I suspect their are 100s of millions if not billions of pages of documents government-wide with a significant portion of that requiring domain subject matter expertise to meaningfully evaluate DOE, USDA, NOAA, NASA, Commerce - let alone DOD, CIA, DHS. The operational premise of comprehensive or even useful cursory review by a board is difficult to understand. That likely leaves a keyword-based approach and that may suggest more Orwellian language approaches going forward.

Yeah I'm sure the Trump admin will totally distinguish between people who are leaking "out of political spite" versus doing it in the public interest. Anyone who believes Trump would not immediately claim that anyone leaking anything from his administration is doing so "out of political spite" is an absolute fool. He would do exactly what Nixon did when the Pentagon Papers came out. And obviously people like you would be happy to be spoonfed Trump's version of events and accept it uncritically.

It is always helpful to have people like you around because they remind us of how and why authoritarianism works. Once you have been conditioned to believe everything the Great Leader says, it's easy just to ignore everything else.

What the fuck are you talking about? If Trump follows through on his plan to replace thousands of mid level government employees with his sycophants then we really are fucked. Those mid level bureaucrats are the ones who really run the government. They are the ones who write the rules and regulations to see that legislation is carried out in a proper manner.

Excellent point. Throw in the government’s penchant for acronyms and internal jargon and such a committee would probably need a great deal combined expertise in regulatory law, public administration, and a range of science and engineering fields to make any sense of it. They may end up hiring half the fired Deep State as private audit consultants at 4x the personnel cost.

I'll also point out that this is where Trump and Project 2025 align. For the Heritage Foundation, the executive power allows a shift to a very conservative federal government. For Trump it is all about personal power and unaccountability. The goals may differ but they align neatly. That is why it will almost certainly be instituted.

Heritage Foundation ought to think twice though because while their immediate goals align, the long term goals do not. Having a POTUS who is only seeking dictatorial powers isn't exactly what HF wants but it is what they are going to get. Luckily Trump is old but if I had to guess he wants the Trump dynasty to be just like the Kim dynasty in North Korea.

They don't have to make sense of it. They just have to find passages that they can take out of context.

The goal isn't to fix anything. It is to make the government look corrupt to justify overthrowing it.

A cynic might see this as an opportunity for a 10 figure annual contract for Palantir (Thiel) and/or Oracle (Ellison).

Remember when Trump disavowed project 2025
Bannon says it was always the blueprint for Trump 2.0 and was approved by Trump
Trump says all fed employees must sign loyalty oath to him
Was forced to lie about it or he would have lost the election

Joe didn't refuse to return them twice. So it is kinda different.

When they’re legitimately suspected of criminal activity? Fuck yeah.
So what level of proof do you need to get that fisa warrant?
If you are the judge and you find out that you were misled or lied to what do you do? Oh well?
How do you ensure accountability?
Do your politics have any sway as to what is legitimate or not?

Of course they are going to implement Project 2025. That was always the plan. Trump lied, as he always does.

My gosh, Nick Fuentes and others are already posting crap like "your body, my choice, forever" to women. This is the same Nick Fuentes Trump hosted at Mara Lago.
