TV Streaming series to talk about.

Like all series I get interested in, I got in late watching Severance, but I am really enjoying it. The pacing is a little slow, but it is unfolding like a fever dream. I really like the visual style and it has a little bit of a modernized David Lynch feel to me.
I’d call it faux Lynchian but I get What you’re saying. I thought they stretched the pacing out too long in both seasons. But overall I still enjoyed it.

If you like the visual style you should look for the movie Playtime by Jacques Tati, which the style was based on.

Finally finished Andor. Thought it was excellent after the first few episodes and the last half of the second season was superb.

It made me want a recut of Rogue One where we spend a lot more time with Cassian and Mon Mothma and way less time with Jyn. Also they can feel free to update the Tarkin and Leia FX now.

Finished Season One last night. I'm glad folks here warned of the slow start.

I finished Season 2 a couple of days ago, and immediately re-watched Rogue One.

I'll repeat again, Andor is the best Star Wars vehicle since the original trilogy. Even if it didn't have the Star Wars IP attached to it, it could stand alone as one of the best shows, and certainly the best Sci-Fi show, on television. Immersive world-building, complex and well-written storyline, and excellent performances by the cast. Luna was a solid lead, Skarsgard is brilliant as always, and Denise Gough (Dedra Meero) and Elizabeth Dulau (Kleya) were absolute revelations. I thought Dulau really stole the show the last three episodes. What a badass. Hard to believe this was her first on-screen performance as an actress.

I also can appreciate that the writers didn't try to spread out this story longer than they did. It's a great story with a finite timeline in the Star Wars Universe, and they wrapped it up tightly in two seasons without the need to extend it and water it down for the sake of money. That could be due to the low viewership of the first season, but still, it was nice to see a show end at its peak.

Love the show, and it's a testament to the fact that despite the size and depth of the Star Wars universe, the original galactic rebellion storyline is still what moves fans of this IP.
