I think the relevant question is "How is what is being stated 'untrue'?"

Is it completely untrue and being made up out of whole cloth? Or is it untrue by degrees and simply being exaggerated by sources or those reporting it?

Given the wide variety of accusations and information that came out yesterday and provided to a wide variety of media - UNC-focused, regional news, and national sports - I would be very, very surprised if these accusations/information were being created whole cloth. And I'd be surprised if they were not exaggerated as they were presented by the various media.

The operative question, to which we don't have a good answer at this time, is how much of what was presented yesterday was factual or close to factual?
I'm in agreement with you on this. For example, ESPN (apparently, I didn't see it) along with various others reported that BB went to New England for the off-week. When, as AJ reports, he left after practice on Thursday and went to a high school game up there Friday night - the team was off after Thursday's practice.

I can rattle off a whole list of G5 football coaches whom I'd prefer right this very moment over this current shitshow disaster for which we are paying $60M and getting beaten by an average of score of like 43-11 against teams with halfway functioning pulses. UNC does not have to suck at football. UNC, or at least the people in power who call the shots, *chooses* to suck at football. There are young, hungry, up and coming G5 coaches out there whom we could get right this moment for HALF of what we are paying Belichick and Lombardi, and I assure you their teams would kick the shit out of our current one.
Yes, but having nice things as a unc fball fan is easier said than done.

I liked the Fed hire... Heck I thought mike Houston would be good for ECU...

The transition from g5 or anywhere to p4 isn't easily predictable.

The story of that weekend was a mishmash of reporting…

- Belichick apparently went to 2 games that weekend, one Friday night & one Saturday night.

- He left on Thursday and there were reports he missed practice on Thursday, but I’ve not seen that verified or refuted.

- He was photographed, I believe on Sunday afternoon, with Jordon just doing touristy stuff.

So the truth is likely that he mixed recruiting and pleasure on the trip, which is understandable but also a little frustrating for a mid-season weekend while we’re sucking out loud in the field.

Cowherd said he vacationed in Nantucket and talked about commitment. I'm sorry..that should anger any UNC fan. It is just not true. And it happening on all these talk shows. Recruit sees that does not help

It was at least part “vacation”, as if it had been all recruiting he could have left later and returned earlier.

As I said, the question is not true vs false in an absolute sense, but how much is factual?

He said he vacationed and the sequed into he was not all in. I absolutely believe it was dishonest commentary.

I recall Roy going on recruiting trips during some bad years as well as HD. Looking to improving in the future isn’t a bad thing, even when your season is going pear shaped, imo.

(AJ reported he was at practice on Thursday.)

Lol yes, out of all the things UNC fans should be angry about, fricking Colin Cowherd talking about Belichick’s flying habits on a hot take show has to be at the top of the list.

I would say it was all vacation -- with a fake recruiting visit sprinkled in.
Yeah, to be clear, Massachusetts is NOT where a college FB coach goes to "recruit" for multiple nights.

Did he do some recruiting while up there? Sure, no doubt he did.

But that was for maybe a couple of dudes, maximum. Only 1 that I saw would be a legit real "get". That is NOT what college FB coaches do on an in season recruiting trip, but happy BB was wise enough to put enough "work" in to be able to legit write this off as a business expense, so to speak

If you guys are going to get bent out of shape about WRAL and nit pick the details, they are not the ones that reported that we were in talks with Belichick to buy him out yesterday. They simply reported what 247 was reporting first, which I think is totally fair.

That is fair. I should have been more specific. What i am saying is that corrections being made. Didn't someone talk about recruiting violations?
