I don’t love what NIL has done to college sports (just how it’s been implemented; I don’t have a problem with players getting paid), but it’s not something you can ignore if you want your teams to be the best they can be. Feels like it’s been this elephant in the room that none of our fans have wanted to accept or talk about because we have what looks like a really good team for this season. The reality though is that we have been missing on a lot of our recruits and transfer portal targets, and if that continues, we will almost certainly start falling behind the other big brands as a program in the next few years.

I really don't understand how that is the case when the Heels have Jordan and Nike money.

I think it shows that UNC needs to get out of the ACC and into a conference that is getting more money.

Getting into either the SEC or Big 10 would definitely alleviate a lot of long term financial concerns.

In the nearer term though it sounds like UNC really needs to get its act together with how it handles NIL.
