Blue/WhiteBigger attendance on Saturday….football game or Blue/White game?
As a '02 graduate, I ask the same rule of thumb question of every new roster: Would either Kris Lang or Jason Capel be a starter on this team?2024-2025

Can't remember when we've had this many natural-born Tar Heels (7). There are 3 Graduate Students, 5 Freshmen, 2 sophomores, 4 juniors, and 1 senior on the team. Two players were born in 2000, 1 in 2001, 1 in 2002, 1 in 2003, 4 in 2004, 4 in 2005, and 1 in 2006. One player was born in January, 3 in February, 0 in March, 1 in April, 0 in May, 1 in July, 2 in August, 2 in September, 1 in October, 2 in November, and 1 in December.
Worse players than Capel or Lang have started on FF teams at UNC.As a '02 graduate, I ask the same rule of thumb question of every new roster: Would either Kris Lang or Jason Capel be a starter on this team?
If yes, we might still be good, but we're not a contender. If no, we have a chance at a FF run.
Unfortunately, Kris Lang would start for this team, and I will temper expectations accordingly.
Perfectly true, and I'm also aware that Capel/Lang actually did go to a FF. The rule of thumb is less a matter of logic and more an 8-20 defense mechanism.Worse players than Capel or Lang have started on FF teams at UNC.
That team was not purely because of Lang and Capel, it was mostly the other players that we all know would not start on any other UNC team.As a '02 graduate, I ask the same rule of thumb question of every new roster: Would either Kris Lang or Jason Capel be a starter on this team?

Mahktar N'Djaie should be the captain of the all-weak link team. Coach Gut started him 5 out of every 6 games.Pondering weak links…
The ‘57 team was of another era (though they did defeat a team with one of the greatest players ever as well as a squad that had a pretty good Johnny Green along the way).
Doherty comes to mind - then Pat Sullivan but he wasn’t often a starter in ‘93. Melvin Scott perhaps in ‘05? 2009 & 2017? Can’t see it.
I'm almost sure Lang would start at power forward for this team. There is no way Withers, Lubin or Tyson would beat out Lang. That team was not purely because of Lang and Capel, it was mostly the other players that we all know would not start on any other UNC team.
Lang wasn't horrible. Capel needed to lose the triple pump fake.
Of course I disagree, I don't believe Lang or Capel would start on this years team.
And I will not argue against that. He wasn't a bad player, that was just a bad team.I'm almost sure Lang would start at power forward for this team. There is no way Withers, Lubin or Tyson would beat out Lang.
I think we all knew coming out of college that Hansbrough had limitations, but I don't think there's any way I would have foreseen everyone on that list out-earning him in NBA money.I definitely don't think anyone would have called him being the most successful pro on that team. He did out-earn everyone else on the team individually, but not the rest of the team combined - several guys had long, productive NBA careers. Career earnings, according to bball reference:
- Danny - $104 m
- Wayne - $48 m
- Ed Davis - $47 m
- Lawson - $43 mil
- Zeller - $17 m
- Hansbrough - $16 m
This . . ! If, you only know an ounce of ACC BB . .Charles Scott was never ACC POY. He got robbed.
And Hansbrough is easily a top 75 all-time ACC player. Easily top 50. Arguably top 25, and even arguably top 10.
Freshman year Lang was the definition of ‘pleasant surprise.’I'm almost sure Lang would start at power forward for this team. There is no way Withers, Lubin or Tyson would beat out Lang.
And you would be wrong.ACC POY is subjective as hell.
Redick and Hansbrough were ACC POY. I’d argue neither is a Top 75 player in the ACC.
Have they announced the line ups for blue white game?
Also, who is your top 8 on the team this year?
Without really knowing anything, or reading up on anybody, a quick guess is the 5 returning players plus Drake, Ian and Lubin.
