I don't think it's too hard to figure out what's wrong with the team:

1. EC's TOs are up about 50% from last year
2. RJ is shooting 24% from deep.

These two players were the reason that people were optimistic about this team. One was an all-American last year and he's giving us basically freshman Caleb; the other was supposed to be the new Kendall Marshall. Both are playing poorly.

Now the underlying root cause might be more complex, but these two players' underperformance is killing us.

Edit: and our big portal get has made 8 FGs through 8 games.

It’s all good. We’ve been assured it’s simply not making open shots. They will start to fall eventually. It’s only December and everyone knows these games don’t actually count.

Well, there has to be at least a little of that, don't you think? Do you anticipate RJ continuing to shoot 25% from 3 point land?

I see that you all have brought over that early December angst from IC.
I don't know if that's fair. This game should not be close. Not being competitive against the best teams is an "early December" angst, especially since we did hang with KU.

But struggling against Tech at home is the sign of a team that is really struggling. This is quickly moving past "early season struggles" into "this team has major issues."

We often struggle against a mediocre Georgia Tech team early in the season. Ya’ll have such short term memories.

Right.. they are playing worse as the season progresses

But we also just lost 3 in a row before this game, and had a very embarrassing showing on Wednesday. And GT is without two of its players (including its second leading scorer and top 3-point shooter). I’m usually pretty optimistic and don’t post a lot of negative stuff, but this team just hasn’t looked good and one major issue (lack of quality bigs for rim protection and finishing at the rim) is probably not fixable.

They are a better shooting team than the last two games but they aren’t a great shooting team

Which they will need to be with no defense and zero production from big men

Getting absolutely nothing from Tyson kills them. They need to find 10 mins and a couple 3s from him

Bigs? Even worse than expected

RJ? 34%. EC? Turnover machine. Tyson? Unplayable. Defense? LOL

The freshman and Seth the few bright spots through 9 games
