United Healthcare CEO shot and killed

There are serial killers who were husbands and fathers. Being a husband and a father is not some totem that grants the bearer additional humanity when their life's work has been inhumane.

I'd wager he created more widows and orphans than his murderer has, by several orders of magnitude. Are we supposed to give him credit because he did it with a pen and for a paycheck?
As through this life you travel
You’ll meet some funny men.
Some will rob you with a six gun
And some with a fountain pen

As through this life you travel
As though this life you roam
You never will see an outlaw
Chase a family from their home.

Woody Guthrie

I think his death is a net positive for the world. Unfortunately, our current system of justice never does anything to executives who cause unnecessary death and pain the way United Healthcare does.

[MOD EDIT - PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS SITE TO PROMOTE VIOLENCE]

I know it's a slipperly slope but I don't think there is any true injustice in this particular death at all. [MOD EDIT VIGILANTISM]

And as for the dumbass argument that anyone here would do what he did for $10 million, that's flat out bullshit. Many of us would take the job, but not do it the way he did it. There is no amount of money in the world that could make me feel good about actively promoting policies that cause pain, suffering and death. None.

Or the millions of unnecessary deaths around the world. No, let's be sad about an overpaid CEO whose job was to put profits over people. Yea, that's the ticket.

I will state again, for some posters, I do not condone the man being killed and I am not gloating, just looking at reality.
I am also not gloating.

I’m just utterly devoid of empathy for that man. How many millions of lives has he damaged or ruined?

wtf does JCD mean?

It’s left over from the original ZZL board. It stands for jump circle defense and has something to do with playing Duke (basketball), but that’s as much as I remember. Can anyone else help fill in the blanks?

ETA nevermind, I see y’all beat me to it!

Here’s hoping the FBI monitors these boards. Do you want to murder everyone who works for health insurance companies, or just the head honchos? How close do you live to Chapel Hill? Does BCBS need to put your face on a poster?

Also, "I would take the job, but I would be better and more caring" is complete BS. That's like saying, "if I played in the NFL I would just throw touchdowns and not any interceptions." You have no idea what this guy was doing on a day to day basis. Additionally, pinning the entirety of everything wrong with healthcare in the US on one person is delusional. You are just a different version of the nutjobs who want to assassinate Fauci, and should be treated as such. Instead, the usual suspects will chime in and say, "well, he wasn't actually gloating, why are you changing the subject?"

I do think we may be starting to see the rebellion against the oligarchy starting.

I do wonder how many death threats are made against Elon. Gotta be a lot right? And he doesn't get government protection even though he bought the government
