That is how UFO sighting "waves" - like the famous wave of UFO sightings over Washington, DC in the summer of 1952 - were explained. They were basically mass hysteria fed by press publicity and people seeing ordinary objects like stars, meteors, airplanes, etc. and turning it into something creepy or sinister when it really wasn't.What’s the likelihood this turns out to be true on a few accounts, but grossly explained by mass panic?
