Agreed. I do have a Facebook page that I use to communicate with friends, family, etc. that are scattered all over the place and that I would never get to see or chat with most of the time, but that's about the extent of my social media activity. I never post on Twitter or Instagram or TikTok or similar sites, although I've certainly seen them posted here and elsewhere, and I do post political or other tweets here sometimes that I come across and find to be pertinent to a thread or argument being made here.Right. No one is referring to anonymous online message boards when colloquially using the term social media. Forums like this probably fall under a subcategory of social media, but I think we can all agree that there are fundamental differences between zzlpolitics.com and mainstream social media platforms like TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram, etc.
But I don't really consider this board or similar ones to be real social media, although I'm sure, as you said, that they technically fall under some subcategory of it.
