Walz — Comer Opens Congressional Investigation of Walz trips to China

Wow, was not expecting Walz. My Minnesotan relatives are gonna be thrilled with this pick. Dude is experienced politically, exceedingly genuine, and super likeable. A sharp contrast to Vance.

Is Walz really all that progressive, or just a common sense moderate? The right wingers have made anything that’s not ultra-wacky conservative, into extreme-left “progressive”.
A common sense moderate? That’s Shapiro. Walz is way to the left of moderate.

I don’t think even Walz himself would try to claim he’s a moderate. He claims he’s a progressive and that progressives shouldn’t compromise their progressive values. He was quoted as saying one man’s socialism is another man’s neighborliness.

The strategy with Walz is “this guy believes in our progressive agenda but he’s relatable to people in the Midwest”. I don’t think the strategy with Walz has anything to do with him being moderate politically.

I don’t think you’re understanding at all what that comment by Walz means.

I do get what he means. I’m not calling the guy a socialist. But he’s an unapologetic progressive. No need to try and pretend he’s a moderate. And I’m not pretending JD Vance is a moderate either (nor do I even like JD Vance).

Ok, fair enough. Many of his specific policy positions are clearly moderate, though.
