2024 National & State Elections (Not POTUS)

I still think Brown will pull through in the end. He's been through these kinds of campaigns before.
Send Sherrod money! Between Moreno’s personal fortune and the millions Republican superpacs are pouring into Ohio, Sherrod is swimming upstream financially. This is how JD Vance beat Tim Ryan….money. Of course as an incumbent Senator there is no way Chuck Schumer will cut off DSCC money like he did with Ryan, but Sherrod needs money. Ohio is a big state with multiple big media markets and it costs a lot of money to counter the message saturation the superpacs provide.

A new poll by NBC News/Marist shows GOP Sen. Ted Cruz with a narrow 4-point lead over his Democratic opponent, Rep. Beto O’Rourke, putting the Congressman from El Paso remarkably close to possibly upsetting Cruz in the general election this fall.

Senate Dems seem to think there's a chance for Allred, apparently ... or maybe just desperate about the polling in Montana and Ohio

I am guessing the latter and going for the Hail Mary. Harris has enough money to spread around.

It's never a bad idea to pump money into a Senate race. You never know. Even in Texas.
It is a bad idea if the money could be used elsewhere. I linked above the deja vu article from Beto 2018. Basically, they were saying the same thing about Beto as they are saying about Allred. And 2018 was probably a stronger year to run against Cruz than 2024.

I agree, but there are declining returns to money. There are only so many ads you can buy in Montana. I don't buy this toss-up bit, but if we can increase our chances of beating Cruz from 10% to 20% it's worth it.

DNC will send funding to all state parties to support down-ballot races

The nearly $2.5 million investment is the first time the national party has sent funding to every one of its state counterparts

"... The DNC is sending more than $400,000 to Florida, which in a release it called “a priority state that we know Democrats can win,” focusing on Puerto Rican voter engagement. It’s investing almost $100,000 in Missouri to hire organizing staff in hopes Democrats can pick up a handful of seats in the state House and Senate to break a GOP supermajority. And it’s even spending about $70,000 in deep-red Idaho, a state that hasn’t elected a Democratic senator in over four decades and where Republicans control every arm of the state government. ..."

Just saw my first TV commercial attacking Michele Morrow, the nutcase GOP candidate for NC Schools Superintendent. It listed several of her more outrageous statements, including that she wanted to see Obama executed on pay-per-view, and participated in the 1/6 Capitol Hill insurrection. Long past time for these kinds of ads to be released, but at least they're finally showing them. Like Robinson, she's said enough crazy stuff that her statements alone are probably enough to sink her if they are publicized widely enough.

I figured we'd see things ramping up as mail-in/election got closer. Why spend money when voting isn't on most people's minds?

Woohoo, I was a donor (not giant one or anything) to get that on air.

Someone from her campaign has put her signs all over Charlotte.
