100% anecdotal of course, but enthusiasm for Trump is way way down vs 2020. I just had to take the family on all of the fall-y agritourism stuff and so spent most of the day driving rural Virginia country roads in 5 or 6 counties Trump won by huge margins in 2020. In 2020, nearly every farm had a Trump sign in the front, some full custom jobs and nearly the size of billboards. This year you could count on one hand the number of signs for Trump, and all but one were the very basic standard sized political signs. But even more surprising was there were at least as many Harris signs, possibly even more. I drove these exact roads in 2020 and the difference is extremely noticeable. Trump is still going to crush Harris in these counties, but the margins will definitely be slimmer. Most of these people will still vote for him, but it seems like at least some of them have some shame about it this go-around, which hopefully means his turnout will be depressed.
