I understand and appreciate the fun of being a contrarian but you need a lot more practice. It's possible to do that and not fall into abject stupidity.
Am I wrong? They put together an economic plan that IIRC was supposed to add $3 trillion to the debt (vs Trump's $7 trillion, I believe). That estimate is based on collecting taxes that they have NO intention of collecting. None.

Why lie? Why not come up with an economic plan where you don't have to lie to get support?

Well the real answer is because for any economic plan to reduce the deficit it has to raise taxes, not lower them, and people simply will note vote for a politician who says they’re gonna raise taxes.

How would I know if you're wrong? I have no expertise in the matter and seriously doubt both yours and your good faith. I do wonder why you would be so dismissive of the comparison made by numerous people who do have that expertise. Essentially, you pretty much have to be delusional or dishonest. I don't see another scenario that doesn't include one or both.

For the record, since 1949, the Democrats have been better for the economy by every metric, although not every instance. I have no idea where the idea conservatives were better at that came from.

Or maybe don't offer more tax decreases and spending that you then have to make up for in other areas... Or in this case say you are going to make up for it in other areas, all the while knowing that it's a lie.

Win at all costs, right?

This isn't a soapbox I'm going to get on today. There are obviously much bigger things going on.

Just got in from setting up the Dem booth at the local precinct. Looking good out there. Keep the faith no matter what happens today. A little Kipling seems appropriate for today:

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!

Is anyone else more worried about the statewide races than the POTUS race? I hate Trump as much as anyone else but I think Robinson/Morrow/Bishop would actually have a more substantial negative impact on day to day life for most people in our state.

Ugh. I know money isn't limitless but I wish the powers to be spent a bit more on negative advertising about Morrow. I feel like she would be easy to tie to Robinson but that they just didn't make a decent effort to do so.
This may not mean much, but there are Mo Green signs in front yards of houses all over Charlotte. In past elections, it has been rare to see signs for people running for that office.
