You may be right, but in my time on hard right sites the white-liberal-male is literally enemy #1.

Yeah, we all know about the Trumper's fear and loathing of racial and ethnic minorities and darker-skinned immigrants, but they also loathe and are filled with resentment towards white liberals (the old "yuppies" category) too. They have a college degree, they often make more money and live in bigger and nicer homes, and nearly everything about them (men and women) drives Trumpers nuts. If they're a white teacher or professor it's even worse, and if they're not married or have kids if they're a white woman that may be the worst of all. It's as if they see these people as race traitors - liberal white women because they're not having kids to keep up the white population (and because they won't accept being subordinate to men) and liberal white men because they're traitors to traditional, John Wayne macho masculinity. If Trump wins I don't think white liberals are safe at all from the petty vindictiveness and resentment of Trumpers.

This is my problem. As a young, straight, white man I'd probably face no repercussions from a trump presidency (assuming it did eventually end). But there's one recurring thought in my head: "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."

He will be appoinying lifetime judges., dismantle EPA (you do breath the air, drink the water), Education, trying his best to cut all kinds of services (SS/Medicare) included. No telling how he would screw up foreign relations. Tariffs, economy.You say it won't affect you, but to quote Joni Mitchell

After dealing with my MAGA family members for going on a decade now, There's a very cynical part of me that sometimes thinks to myself, "fuck 'em - let Trump win and let these people get what they think they want so badly, and when it goes to shit, let it sink in to the ones who have a conscience that they did this."

Of course, I certainly don't want him to win. I just feel like we're going to be fighting Trumpism from here on out, even after Trump is gone/dead, and that pervasive thought is just exhausting.

Agreed. If Trump gets elected and everything goes to hell, then the vast majority of his supporters won't admit that they were wrong. Instead they'll find some way to blame Democrats for it all, and Trump and his minions will do everything they can to deflect all the blame onto the Democrats. It's who we are now.

I used to think this was true but if Trump tries to deport millions of people and institutes a blanket tariff on all imported goods I’m worried about my 401k and retirement plans.

At this point I am clinging to fund raising enthusiasm and bad polling to remain hopeful, but it's going to be a hard three weeks for me personally. Not sure I handle another 4+ if it goes wrong.

Yeah I imagine some rural Arizona sheriff who pulls you over for speeding will trust that you are an America citizen, and not call the goon squad to take you to the deportation camp.

there's a latino family in my parents neighborhood with a trump sign in their yard......boggles the mind. most of the family speaks broken english and not well.

just a staggering lack of self awareness from these folks. right wingers don't care that you agree with them on social issues if your skin is brown and you don't speak english.
