Why does Donald Trump hate American servicemen? This young man tragically died serving his country, and now his family has to hear the fucking President of the United States standing in front of the rest of the world talking about the crash was caused by people with intellectual disabilities.

But was he conservative? Was he hetero? Was he able-bodied? We've reached the point now where MAGA believes that only straight, white, conservative, able-bodied males are qualified for jobs above minimum wage. Everyone else is a DEI hire.

As if they don't have dyslexia, or diabetes, or congenital heart disease, or low-T, or neurodivergence, or bone spurs, or alcoholism, or mortal fear of a mob (looking at you Joggin' Josh Hawley), or, or , or ... really, they just have the most mobilized pathological insecurity in my lifetime.

I’m getting worried about the Pubs who were crowing all over this board a few days ago. Awfully quiet now, guys. Y’all hanging in there? I know this is extraordinarily embarrassing, but your departure from the conversations here is very much noted.
They’ll come by to celebrate when a highly qualified and dedicated career government professional gets fired or murdered.

I dunno. Blaming the deaths of 67 people on diversity hires is beyond the pale, even for Trump.
He has zero bottom. “Beyond the pale” does not apply to Trump. Not. One. Bit.

When he orders extrajudicial killings, it will be perfectly consistent with his, and his followers’, character. Not for one second will I be surprised. I’ll think it’s the expected behavior of a narcissistic sociopath with a god-complex and crushing little dick energy.

Trump was dead set on blaming the FAA (and further blaming DEI), it seemed, so maybe he already knew this? Or more likely didn’t care. When you read his blame Obama EO issued today, pretty clearly all Trump cares about is (a) Trump not being blamed and (b) using this as another DEI cudgel against the Federal workforce.

There's still time. The crew chief doesn't fly the helicopter. But one of the pilots is not very tan. Haven't seen the other one.

Ouch. That's going to suck for that family. The white male pilot was an instructor and the lead pilot was a female. I believe she had the stick at the time of the crash but she did have a lot of hours. Odds of Trump decency for a family that just lost a daughter and possibly a wife is very low.

The Day Trump Became Un-President

The first press conference of Trump’s second term had a lot in common with the freewheeling, falsehood-packed sessions of his first.

“… And just like in 2020, Trump used a national calamity to try to score political points and denigrate his foes. Fourteen hours after a midair collision between an American Airlines jet and a military helicopter outside Washington last night—the first crisis of the young administration, a moment to console a stunned and grieving nation—Trump repeatedly implied that the crash was the fault of his Democratic predecessors and of DEI policies.

Trump offered no evidence to support his claims but repeatedly cast the blame on others, even as bodies were still being pulled from the frigid waters of the Potomac River just a few miles away.

“Because I have common sense, okay?” Trump said, when asked how he had concluded that diversity programs—programs that Trump claimed were put in place by the Biden and Obama administrations—were to blame. “Unfortunately, a lot of people don’t.”

And then, in his briefing-room appearance today—the first of his 10-day-old second term—Trump offered a few initial notes of sympathy, and then turned almost immediately toward castigating DEI, leaving several correspondents to turn and shake their heads in disbelief.

“I put safety first,” Trump said. “Obama, Biden, and the Democrats put policy first, and they put politics at a level that nobody’s ever seen, because this was the lowest level. Their policy was horrible, and their politics was even worse.”

Trump showcased his instinct to immediately frame tragedies through his own ideological or political lens, facts be damned. And it’s a pattern: Earlier this month, he blamed the Southern California wildfires on Democratic politicians and suggested that illegal immigration was the cause of a terrorist attack in New Orleans, even though the attacker was a U.S. citizen born in Texas. …”
