Yes. When you receive medicine/treatment/advice from a doctor, you assume that it's well researched and known to be safe.
Your statement was about clinical trials not an annual physical. . I'm sure that one involved in a clinical trial cannot be unsuspecting of what they are involved in, what is being studied, and the risk associated.

My statement was related to the fact that there haven't been any clinical trials regarding children, gender dysphoria and the use of puberty blockers. Doctors just kind of started doing it.

Things have changed since your halcyon days of the syphilis experiments at Tuskegee. Now you have to have informed consent to participate in trials including a lot of documentation from patient and doctors. I remember all the stuff my wife went through years ago with HRT trials revolving around early menopause.

That was not clear at all, considering the post you responded to.

Right and you're aware that you're involving yourself in a trial - an experiment - not unknowingly participating in an on-the-fly trial/experiement as kids have been doing in regard to gender dysphoria.

From your article.

In a long-term study published in 2014, Dutch researchers reported that access to these treatments had improved patients’ mental health and curbed their gender dysphoria, which is when someone experiences distress because their gender identity does not match their biological sex at birth.

You really need to work on reading what you link. This is the third or fourth time that you've proven yourself a liar with your own link. What's up with that?

(Ignoring the fact that it's only one study)

You really need to read the entire article.....

You claimed there were no studies. Once disproven why would we continue to read some thing you provide? Don't intentionally try to make the material look different to support your position, then people might take you more serious. But considering your history in regard to this topic, I doubt you will change or we will respect your position.

How many LGBTQ voted for Trump? Can those #’s be found in all of the polling data?

We know of several (or at least a few) lesbians that voted Trump. I know one personally who lives one street over. She was my Pilates instructor at the local Yoga studio.

I know I’m not to supposed to feel good about somebody else’s misfortune, but this is where my schadenfreude kicks in big time, and when I think comments like this should go on the FAFO thread. I truly hope something the GOP does directly fucks with that old gal. Fucks her good. It’ll make my day.

I’m sorry, this is where I truly hope all the shit the GOP and Maga dish out on LGBTQ affects those who voted for the summabitch moreso than any others.

We ask this all the time, but how can anybody keep voting against their own best interests?
Poor/low income? “I know… let’s vote Trump so he’ll give more tax breaks to the Uber wealthy and cut Medicaid! Yes, that’s the ticket! Keep those trannies outa the schools and take away their healthcare! That’ll really improve my situation.” (Another example of schadenfreude BTW)

Hopefully very few LGBTQ voted Trump. Those that did must be very well off financially and not give two shits about their fellow LGBTQers.

These are generally not double-blind trials because they can't be due to ethical restrictions, or would at least be very hard and expensive to conduct. You have this idea that medicine proceeds by clinical trial alone and that's not remotely true.

No clinical trial would be required for hormone treatment because we understand the mechanisms of action. We know that hormone therapy is safe and effective in general. The question is whether this particular off-label use is effective. Well, off-label use is extremely common and not subject to clinical trials. My son takes guanfacine for autism related anxiety even though it's a blood-pressure med. If you take trazodone or seroquel for sleep, there are no clinical trials. Wellbutrin for ADHD; SSRIs for Tourette's, premature ejaculation, and irritable bowel syndrome. Etc.

All you are revealing is an ignorance of medical research. Shocking, I know.

Technically that's not a clinical trial. So technically he's factually correct but it doesn't mean what he thinks it means.

Where am I mistaken?
To start with the stupid statement about "pretending to be a female".

It's college if the guy wants to get laid, dressing as a girl is probably the least effective method. If he's a sexual predator, then none of this is a factor as he will find other ways.

The show bosom buddies was a comedy, not real life.

So are you saying a male can be a female if he believes in his head he is a female? Yes or no.

I shouldn't have said pretending, because probably that isn't what is happening, but there probably is some sort of mental issue to create that kind of confusion. Outside of actual intersex/chromosomal stuff that is extremely rare, it's pretty simple from a biological perspective. I'll admit from a mental standpoint it is likely more complicated. Just because it is a well known example, you can look at the congressional representative from Delaware, McBride. That person is clearly a biological male. There is nothing about that person that even remotely makes anyone think it's a female. Which is why on a previously locked thread, I had pointed out that I didn't think McBride was actually serious about transitioning and that it very well (in my opinion highly likely) could be a massive troll job as it doesn't appear to be a serious attempt at transitioning. And the way McBride has gone on social media with some really over the top leftist viewpoints, I am just not convinced McBride is actually serious about any of it. And wouldn't be a bit shocked if I found out later it was some long drawn out troll job to poke fun at the modern day far left. Hopefully I don't get a ban as a result of throwing this theory out there again, but I really think it is highly likely that is what is going on with McBride. Am I really the only one that thinks that is the case?
