Harris v. Trump Debate Thread | DEBATE DISCUSSION THREAD

Interesting, that in Trump's four years as President and Harris's Senate years at the same time, that they never met. Not to mention funerals Trump didn't attend but she did. I kinda think she open with that she missed him at Bidden inauguration that he skipped.

That is the hardest question to answer for me as to why folks support Trump.

While I'm registered unaffiliated, I recognize that at this point I lean Dem. (I would say that's more due to the rightward lurch of the Pubs in the last 15 years, but that's not really important.)

But if the Dems were running a liberal version of Trump - someone who was an extremist, who tried to overthrow the peaceful transfer of power, who used the office of POTUS largely for their personal gain, and who has shown no respect for the institutions of government nor democracy - I would have no problem voting for a Pub for President - certainly someone like Mitt Romney and very likely even someone like Nikki Haley or Chris Christie.

And it's not like anyone paying a minimum of attention should not know who or what Trump is at this point. It's clear who he is and what he wants to do. The only understanding I can take from it is that folks prefer a fascist who threatens the integrity of our government to a slightly-left-of-center Dem.
She’s not a slightly left-of-center Democrat.

She’s a Marxist Socialist Communist Fascist Dimocrat.

I won’t watch it because even hearing Trump’s voice makes me very angry. I would enjoy reading play by play commentary on this thread, though.

When certain posters are at their best this can be comedy gold. Been looking forward to this for some time.

I do realize this is NOT a game thread, but, I am so hoping that VP Harris can go in there and 'steal the orange turd's brownies . .

I'm watching pre-debate discussion on ABC. My 8-year-old walks in the room, sees Trump on the TV, and says, "I don't like Donald Trump very much... he's orange."

It's pretty wild how many children or young kids I hear saying Donald Trump sucks or is a bad person.

I'm walking my dogs before the debate and I'm pretty jittery. Like my nerves are as frazzled as if I was about to defend my thesis or interview for a big job or whatever.

If this is like a game thread, are people going to get upset when Kamala misses a wide open dunk opportunity on Trump? Or are they going to get mad at the refs when they don't call a personal foul on Trump? Or is this going to be a positive thread where everyone is excited for the home team?
