Not that part of Florida. If any part of Florida’s coast is undeveloped, there’s a reason. That area is all swamp. Will definitely help with the landfall impact, but Tallahassee and southeast GA is still in for a world of hurt. And the NC mountains most of all.
That one storm a few years ago hit Cedar Key. They built back some of the damaged homes. Oh it was Idalia just last year

Could be 940 mb or below pressure at landfall. Helene is wobbling east - taking aim now at Perry, FL. That *could* mean more rain for the Piedmont of NC. The mountains are likely to have flash floods. Tropical storm force winds would extend north of ATL. rain + wind = lots of trees downed. Loss of power, etc. FEMA's response could have an effect on the election in GA, NC.

It's the norm now for these hurricanes to blow up like this in the Gulf. Still time for Helene to get stronger. Tomorrow is going to be hectic.

Yes this can be impactful for the election

A decent FEMA and NHS performance and it's a HUGE Harris talking point. Hey all of the help and forecasting? Trump wants to ELIMINATE ALL OF IT

Trump = Dracula,
MAGA = Renfield

Of course trump isn’t fractionally as cool as Dracula, but the analogy still works, mostly bc MAGA is every bit as toady-ish and groveling and pathetic as Renfield…
