One of the local weather people said 90. It was supposed to go right over Atlanta
Whether it’s 30 or 90 miles east of the projection, it’s not good news for Charlotte (but it might be helpful for the mountains.)

This woman on the weather channel cannot pronounce Swannanoa... Every damn time

They just showed Asheville. Damn the flooding is BAD

Power back on at our cabin and security system is active, though I can’t seem to get the cameras back up. Nearby resorts seems like heavy rain and wind but still active feed for now.

Powerline teams don’t get the first responder credit they deserve in these situations — out restoring power to a few hundred homes while the weather intensifies…

You have a mountain cabin?

If you ever need anyone to house sit, I could probably figure out some availability. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Anyone else out there with no power? Our powers been out for three hours now. Foothills Western North Carolina.

From 8 am - UNCA (was last post on previous page)

“Hurricane Helene has reached Western North Carolina and begun to impact campus. We anticipate a significant weather impact this morning.

Campus Updates

Our campus Emergency Operations Center has been open and actively monitoring the storm and campus impacts throughout the night.

The campus is currently without power and internet. Impacts on cellular networks have caused data instability. This means cellular and text services are failing.

At this time, water and other utilities are still intact. We will continue to monitor and update the campus community as needed.”

I’m on a mountainside near Fairview. 15 minutes east of AVL. No power. A bit worried about trees and exiting capabilities. Was just outside with the dogs - ground saturated. Branches down.
